      I cant wait for the stage 4 indy review to come out, you know Ben's gotta have his hands on a pair or will soon enough.
      There is gonna be sooo many comments "whens the AF1 reviewing coming out" "I thought you said, you werent gonna review new trucks anymore!" lol
      I hope Ben will give us the full scope and review both the AF1 and stage 4s back to back since if memory serves me correct the AF1 is based off of the Indy stage 4 design and obviously Indy seen how Ace blow up overnight with the AF1s and was like guess theres a demand for stage 4s to make a return and if people want the stage 4 geo then who better to give it to them then us.
      So it would be interesting to see Ben's thoughts on how well or poorly ACE executed the stage 4 design in comparison to the relaunched stage 4s
      I mean, if hes gonna test and review stage 4s (i imagine he will) then hoping on a pair of ACE AF1s right afterwards would be the best time to review them if he were ever gonna do it.
      That said, if someone from ACE marketing hasnt directly reached out to Ben yet and offered to send him a couple pair to test and review then they are slacking hard!!

    Just put my bones swiss ceramics that have been in my drawer for a year on a new board. I thought my Swiss 6 were the best AND quieter than any bearing I've owned. I ride Swiss bones 90% but have owned almost all. No rattle, they feel maybe a tad thick I guess. Have a feeling they will be quiet and fast after break in period. All my boards atm have Swiss or Swiss 6. So thays all I'll compare to. Buying wheels at ccs and adding bearings they were $99. Better to just get wheels to. Easier to justify for me.
    This man helps keep this 30yo dad on a board. Thanks! P.s... my name is Ben as well lol...

    Wanna make your bearings last a looooooooong time? Use the sheilds. Use bearing spacers. Clean them once in awhile. I've had Bones Swisses for 4 years

    • @DarmokAtTanagra
      @DarmokAtTanagra Рік тому

      IMO you should never use bearing spacers unless they are extremely well spec'd to your wheels. The thing about urethane is it actually flexes more than you think it does, so pretty much regardless of how the spacers fit, they are going to jam into your bearings, and if any dirt gets in there, it's going to jam it into your bearings as well. They don't really make sense unless you are looking for extra stability for downhill longboarding or sth IMO. Just clean and relube your bearings properly, that's all. Skip the spacers, you're just creating more complication and issues.

    • @vorpalblades
      @vorpalblades Рік тому +2

      @@DarmokAtTanagra the purpose of spacers is because urethane is flexible. They connect the inner races to help prevent deflection when the urethane deforms.

      I brought Andale swiss bearings a couple years ago and they are so smooth, fast and super quiet... they were a game changer for me.
      Im in my 30s and skated most of my life, before trying andale swiss bearing, bearing tech didnt interest me all that much since I had never really tried a pair that was leaps and bounds better then any others (better then bones reds), sure there was little differences between bearings but most everyone ive ever known including myself always went back to bones reds in the end cause even if you did venture out and buy a more expensive bearing set, usually there wasnt a big enough difference in performance and quality to truly justify the additional cost and by your next set you end up just going with the tried and true bones reds once again.
      The swiss bearings from andale really are a boost in performance over your standard steel bearings, the speed and smoothness is noticeable from first push.
      P.Rod rides the andale swiss bearings, I believe theres a deck setup video from couple years ago where he mentions having rode ceramics for a bit (i think he was buying them out of pocket too, since bones wasnt his sponsor and andale doesnt make any ceramics) but once andale came out with the swiss bearings he started riding them and found them to be just as fast and smooth, and as an added bonus for consumers they're cheaper then ceramics.
      I havent rode ceramic bearings yet, Ive seen various brands ceramic bearings on sale from time to time and regret not buying them when i had the chance to get them so cheap. Ill likely pick up a pair this year to try out.
      But as of right now andale swiss are my favorite bearings to ride without a doubt.

I didn't wanna go with China reds cuz iv heard they dropped in quality over the years..so I was gonna go for the super reds til I saw a option in between China n super (big balls). they review on the positive side but I'd like ur opinion if u even see this comment..the only con is ppl say they're louder than supers, but I LOVE the sound of loud shield less bearing so that's actually a plus for me lol.

    I've had these suckers for around 6 months now and they quite literally still ride better than new, they however are pretty expensive and granted Ive never rode bones but coming from a downhill long boarder who beats the shit out of them on a daily basis they are very much worth the money, you just have to break em in because they don't ride very fast out of the box. So if your looking to upgrade your board ceramic bearings are some of the best upgrades you can make as they make your board roll forever and Im talking like 5 or 6 times better than steel bearings, although there are a few steel bearings out there that do slay too.

    what happened to the brand 'lucky? back in the day I had a set of lucky ceramics n they were the best bearing iv ever had.. idk if it's a universal thing with ceramics, but they took no water damage at all!! I specifically remember being stranded at the park when it started raining..I had no choice but to ruin my board to get home (idk if u remember the shuv-it blanks that were super cheap) when I got home,the deck was so low quality that the plys started to peel and unravel (which is something iv never seen til this day) but my bearings were fine,if anything the rain cleaned the extra gunk off the shields...the only reason I had those lucky ceramics is I think I might have stolen them (I was a lil shit of a "skater kid" back in 03-04.).so iv never had anything but reds since then. this is when a box of China reds were like 13 bucks n a sheet of grip was 5. I kno ppl try to say inflation skipped the skateboard industry but it most certainly caught up with them at some point.

    I love Bronson g2s, but I recently built a 220$ heroin egg custom park setup and didn't want to spend any more money on a set up Ima beat up anyways, so I got some 14$ cheap shot spitfire bearings. And not goanna lie a month later holding up like new!! but I wanna give these ones in the video a try!

    When the covers come off dirt gets into the bearing, you have to take it all apart and wash it in acetone, let it dry and so forth. At 2 months these bearings look like they should have been replaced twelve months ago. $70 bearings that basically fell apart day one. Sure they still ride smooth but so would a set of $15 Bones Bearings.

    Funny quirky thing about Bronson speed co. about two years ago they had videos with Bronson team riders rocking these race jerseys, kind of motocross style with the last names of the riders. They would always do 1 trick or none at all with them on and kind of look bashful/not stoked to wear them and I always thought they were the coolest things ever, would pay $100 for one of those
