I tried this out today and the integration into VS Code is great so far. I hope you can add a button that lets me add the generated code into a new file with a single click. Even better would be if I could pair program with the AI for certain code sections, so it would give me a suggestion, then I would do some editing and then it would continue based on that without too much copy and pasting.
These are great ideas! We're working on adding generated code to the editor directly so that there isn't a need to copy paste. Stayed tuned.

it's wonderful. I'm happy using it, but don't expect it to bring the latest code or libraries or new frameworks like LangChain, as it suffers the same shortcomings as ChatGPT's training data which is understandably a tall order, but would be an outstanding game changer if it could write code based on the latest. Ideally, you could override it

Is this only avalable for Visual Studio Code?

Seems all the codeium features work well for vscode. I'm porting from jupyter notebook to vscode

Are the options above a function saying "Explain, Docstring" etc supposed to be clickable? When I click them nothing happens in intellij

Is there any way to set it up so that the answer appears in its entirety, rather than typed word for word.
We experimented with this internally and decided that streaming the message word for word was a better experience than waiting for the entire answer to be generated first then sending it over all together (which would mean waiting 10 seconds for the screen to change). Because our model streams the answer word by word, it made sense to show as much of the answer to the user as possible. Hope that explanation makes sense :)

It would much better if chat ui is better just like github copilot
And one more thing i missed from copilot is ability to insert the suggestion in the current cursor position

Hello, i tried it out an encountered bugs. First, chat order was in reverse order (earlist queries and responses were at the bottom instead of the top). Second, multiples of the same response to a query were generated, clogging the conversation.
Definitely not the expected behavior. Can you please reach out to our team on Discord so that we can reproduce and resolve your issue? Hopefully your issue goes away if you press “Clear Conversation” and reload the sidebar. Thanks!

I've started using codeium, and it's amazing. But I have a problem: I can't find the conversations I had. Are the chats not saved here?
i wish it would check for indents all the time and fix them, its a pita especially if youre new to language and dont know syntax that well

I don't think it is Chat GPT because it doesn't ask me for an API key unlike other extensions such as CodeGPT or Rubberduck. But I'm not sure. I also got access to the Beta :)

Hello, I am new to all of this. Could I use this to make an app for example a dress up game, small scale games, etc. and if so how? If not, could I use this with like Google Sites to make the website look cooler?

No "code lens", no chat, no nothing.
We had originally only rolled it out to those who had filled out our beta signup. We have since opened it up to the general public for free. If you open up the extension top the latest version (v1.2.5+), you should have access to Codeium Chat now. If not, feel free to reach out to our Discord and someone from our team would be more than happy to help.
Hello, Codeium is amazing and has been a great help to me. However, I have noticed that if the generated code exceeds 100 lines or so, it gets truncated. Could you please fix this?

Can't figure out how to use it in Colab.
Codeium Chat is only supported in VS Code at the moment, but we will be adding more IDE's soon. Colab can use Codeium Autocomplete today for free via our Chrome extension: codeium.com/chrome_tutorial

The information is valuable, but the constant zooming in and out is disorienting and makes it difficult to concentrate on the content. It seems as though the editor has just discovered transition effects in PowerPoint.

Creators need to stop putting in a video overlay when instructing use of applications. the video of a face is EXTREMELY distracting and draws the eyes away from whatever is actually relevant in the UI that is being discussed. An overlay of someone's face may be fun while live streaming games or something, but in tutorials, it serves absolutely no function, it actually works against the purpose of the tutorial. This is not a personal attack, but we do not need to see your face, really, we don't. it is not relevant to the topic and it distracts.

That's great to hear! Glad it's helpful. We can look into this, though we found users prefer to read the words as they are streamed instead of waiting for the entire response (which could take 30 - 90 seconds)
