Would warming any individual part of the apparatus be useful ,or a paradoxical hindrance?

not really, the heat needs to be focused on the material in order to soften it. This is because, naturally hard material like brass, harden under the metal spinning process even more so. The annealing process aids in the forming of the material

Can the metal snap as it bends back and forth?

This can happen, the metal will crack or split if pressure is not applied properly or the metal is too thin. These are just a few examples 👍
