Man, I hope we will get some hidden vocations, I don't expect a crazy number, but at least advanced Yellow or Green vocation. I would love to see a Monk or Crossbow vacation.
Probably, they said that advanced vocations were hidden behind quests and I see no reason for them to highlight and do that for only two vocations. Plus it opens up the possibility of regionally unlocked vocations such as finding monk in battahl or smthn
My guess is an advanced version of each base color and then a hybrid between each. But then again I have no idea now since the Trickster vocation has two colors not even shown
I actually liked how as a videogame the enemies always spawned in the same locations every time. It's like most videogames, Ratchet and Clank and Super Mario 64 to basically 95% of single player videogames run this type of loop! It's generally inevitable for a game like this! I've noticed no one complains about Elden Ring having the same enemies spawn in the same locations every time.... It's a videogame after all.
We'll have to wait for release to see how well DD2's system works but yes, i agree there's nothing wrong with making the same enemies spawn in specific areas, tbh the issue with DD1 was the lack of enemy variety before post-game (where almost every fight was against cyclops), not that the exact same enemies would spawn in the same places. However partially randomizing enemies spawns should still make the game feel less "predictable", even if they are not trying to do something on the level of S.T.A.L.K.E.R./Rain World's independent AI simulation where the world is often described as "feeling alive" thanks to their focus on it.
I think the enemies spawning at the same is fine if its like the creators habitat like goblins at a broken building or under some big tree. But i think characters that are like bandits should be roaming around randomly to find travelers and pawns to steal from or hunt
I personallyblike th balance that Skyrim goes for. The same enemy factions may respawn at the same encampments and forts but the world would generate random traveling squads, be it mages, imperials, Stormcloaks, Dawnguard, Vampires, Daedra that will sometimes run into these forts. Mods of course would eventually make these systems even better. It just funny that Modders can make these systems so much better when it could have been done by the devs in the first place.
That last gameplay clip has serious Bitterblack Isle vibes. Now it's probably just a part of some random dungeon, but I really hope there's a long-ass dungeon crawl like BBI in the game
I would appreciate the ability to actually sleep in your own house this time when you're in your starting town. It always drove me crazy having to stay at the inn in Cassardis when my own house was right next to it!
I hope that there is also authenticity used with the potential relationships/romances with characters. I hope it has meaning and death and believability like what you would see with the Mass Effect series or Dragon Age origins, or Witcher or BG3. There’s different approaches to take, but if you use this immersive mechanic it needs to have that kind of meaning and believability behind it Otherwise, you have wasted resources they are only in namesake done So superficially that it is pointless and meaningless. You don’t care . Which is something you typically see in Bethesda games or Ubisoft, where your interactions are limited to dialogue with NPCs instead of characters. When authentic care is not backed by the resources to believably realize it… Players notice. If you don’t care, then why should we. All that to say, I hope the approach is authentically done, and if that’s not a area that they care to authentically realize… Then I would rather them not have the mechanic in there at all, and pull those resources away from being used somewhere else. The use of this in the original game was very much hey afterthought and not authentically done . I think it would be a great immersive mechanic to use here, but whether it’s in regards to this or any other kind of aspect of a game… have intentional authenticity behind it. Give it meaning and depth. Show that kind of invested care so that we can care as well.
Dragons Dogma looks epic, already pre-ordered. Regardless, looks like Palworld will be game of the year. I believe that game is fun, but I am just not interested in playing it. I rarely play games anyway. Last game was Baldur's gate 3, and before that was Returnal.
all pawns in the party will get the knowledge. they don't have to use your pawn to have knowledge of something, if their pawn was with you they just get it permanently. it going both ways like this is one of the best parts of the pawn system. it's insane to me that the main story, in the old concept with the map, had a quest that included a dungeon to turn the moon back on so the tides wouldn't block the final dungeon. so many of these ideas just sound like a wild D&D campaign and it's awesome. Itsuno also said that npcs could get into a death match if you were friends with them both, suspiciously, he never said they had to be enemies first to trigger this.
In Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, the Sorcerer Vocation can learn/use necromancy, high necromancy, and grand necromancy, but it’s not the most visually appealing spell. Perhaps there will be more dark sorcery spells, in Dragon’s Dogma 2!

As excited as I am for this game, I’m so bummed the spell slots for casters have been reduced from 6 to 4. Such a downgrade imo and makes picking spells even more difficult. So many cool options to choose from and so few slots!
It’s not a down grade for two reasons. 1. Many of the weapon skills from DD1 are now core skills, so they are passively included in vocation. 2. Some of the core skills are active skills that work the same way as weapon skills and they can be switched out like weapon skills too, so we actually have more than 6 skills in DD2 compared to DD1, it’s an upgrade.
@@CloudWind0643I think you’re making a lot of uninformed assumptions. While many of the weapon skills for melee classes are now core skills, there’s been nothing shown that suggests sorcerer’s will have previous spells (especially powerful ones) in core weapon slots, even if they did, that’s only 5 spells total. Your second point doesn’t make any sense but if you’re saying you can swap out core skills that’s still only 5 skill slots total.
