Best demo of this amp I have seen. Decision made. Thank you!
Good demo! Love this amp! My fav of the line so far. I did the first live (broadcast) demo of this amp on UA-cam. Even in the live broadcast environment I loved it.
I just ordered one of these heads for a Christmas present. I don't think it will disappoint
The best boost I've come across to use in front of this amp is the Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster because it also gives you a couple of tone shifts (emulating vintage and modern humbuckers) that are built into the pedal to give you maximum tonal flexibility. Just keep in mind that this amp only needs a slight boost in the blue channel to get it to metal mayhem (in other words don't overdo it or you'll be disappointed). Try one, it's worth checking out.
Awesome test
Playing technique is unreal!
i have an elcheapo fab metal pedal running into clean channel its the best sounding set up i ever had
great review as always :D i love the idea of mixing the blue and the red channel since the blue on the original lbx is always too thin and the red is so muddy for my taste
you are right, that jackson is beautiful
Waiting today for delivery for my 2nd LBX II, can't remember why I sold the first one...LOL GREAT Lil amp.
Dude, that guitar is sweet!
looks like the new Pro series soloist with a hard tail. Duncan distortion pickups (beast)
LOL @ presence on 0.
Sounds Much better in 15w mode .
Hey Joss, what cab do you use with your 5150 50 watt?
Great playing! You make that amp sound amazing. I just purchased the LBX II with a 1x12 matching cabinet. I'm having trouble finding enough low end thump out of it though. How are you able to achieve such thick, tight low end thump out of yours? Are you using some type of pedal that we aren't aware of? How do you have your knobs set up to get that awesome sound?
I need an answer, guys... 😁
This EVH or Peavey 6505 mh ???
Valentin Pau EVH, i was also trying to decide but after lots of research, i’ve made my choice... between those two! Now i gotta decide if I should just get a 50 watt version? And if so, which one? 6L6 or EL34 version?? They are slightly different with one having more low end, a bit darker and a better blue channel and the other one a gnarly mid-range punch. They are equally great i think, just depends on style and situation. I read that the Peavey 6505 mh overheats so it turned me off from it 😢
@@Pazuzu88 I finally bought a Laboga Mr Hector 🤣
I think I would choose the 6l6 version.
More precision, in my opinion.
Valentin Pau i need to check those out 👀 but now im leaning towards the 50 watt, possibly the EL34 version. Cheers 🍻
@@Pazuzu88 Even if I prefer the 6l6, I think you can't be disappointed with the el34. Sounds great.
Cheers from France! 😁🍺🍺🍺
Fuck me this guy is nuts on the axe 😀❤️! Such a great natural style you have! Licks on the low frets sound so clean! Great amp too! I just got one 😁
Good amps .but still dont come close to the fender twin with a brownie distortion
Can you gig with it
It does have a clean channel, unlike the first LBX, but looses in the crunch area. Not that I played it, but that is my impression, the blue channel seems too gainy for that appliation. Also, Phillip McKnight comments in a video that unlike the first LBX, this one sounds like a 'broken radio' at bedroom volumes. Not good for many who love their bedrooms.
I have this amp and agree at 1 on the blue channel it sounds like a bee in a beer can...but take it to 2 and its crunchy and rhythmic like F@#k! so there you have it bedroom level not so good but garage level just Kicks A$$!
Great amp, but a little overpriced for my taste. Great playing as always!
ALL EVH gear is overpriced? Bullshit, they are some of the most affordable. The 50 watt 5150III is $999 and cheaper than every 50 watt head from Marshall, Orange, Mesa and Friedman. The 100 watt 5150III is $1799 and again, its cheaper than the 100 watt heads from Marshall, Orange, Mesa and Friedman. Only the DSL100 is cheaper and its nowhere close to either version of the 5150III.
I'm totally agreed with you, Michael. Look at this demo, Suqdis ua-cam.com/video/FZvuAXFx6s0/v-deo.html , orange marshall and evh sound almost alike, but evh cost much less then any of them. So how you can call evh amps overpriced?
Not sure exactly when this specific head was released but Marshall’s origin tube head 50 watts is only $650. And it sounds just as good as the evh lbx. I tried them side by side
Definitely liking this LBXII a lot more than the LBX. Much more versatile.
