Halo 3, Cod 4, WAW and MW2 undoubtedly was the best time in online gaming history. So happy I was there to enjoy it. The saying "you dont know your in the good times until they are over" is so true.
I know I still miss it and even there’s a saying that I say to myself every day with some things you don’t know how good you have something in your life until it’s gone
WaW had the best factions beside MW2. The overzealous Imperial Japanese, the extremely patriotic Wehrmacht, the unforgiving Red Army, and the brotherhood of Marine Raiders. Atmosphere was clearly a huge priority in this game and I'm so thankful that Treyarch did it so well.
For many of us, this was our first step into the Call of Duty franchise. We were the squeakers, the shitters, and this game will always hold a special place in my heart. No SBMM, no bullshit, just making friends and great experiences. Wouldn't trade those years as a kid for anything in the world, and I envy the kids now who won't get to experience it. Thanks for sharing. Brought back a ton of memories and made me feel super old.
I agree, although it was a bit broken that the 7 streak would contribute to your next streak. So many games I would get a heli or dogs and hold it til I died, then call it as soon as I respawned and have another one within 20 seconds hahaha
Even at launch I thought the MW2 killstreaks and attachments (heartbeat sensor) were cool but too much. Gun play and decision making are what I love about COD and for that reason I like COD4/WAW the most despite my love for the MW2 maps
Yea, WaW's game engine was just something else. I find it weird how hard they downgraded all newer cods. You can tell the difference. WaW -> Black ops 1 sound great. Anything after that, you see it progressively gets worse. There's just so much detail in this game that's unmatched.
The nostalgia… I had just turned 11 when this game came out. Had so much fun playing it. I’m glad that I’ve lived the golden era of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare to Black Ops 2. Kids nowadays don’t know what they’ve missed out on.
One thing I miss about cod on 360 was just being able to put the disk in and load up straightaway. No bullshit 8hr download times, no needing 2 consoles to house 1 game cos there’s about 2tb of downloads to be installed. Just plain and simple. Good times
I still play this and BO1 on PS3 and yes you can still find good games. Black Ops 1 is actually really populated for its age, on PS3 there’s still 2-3 thousand players every time I hop on
This game was something else man the campaign multiplayer and zombies were all perfect and the brutality and like creepy feel to it made it even better they dont make them like they used to

Yep, take me back. Every day I always think about this game. It was gritty, serious and fun. Maps all were designed really well. The voice lines in multiplayer just made you feel like you were truly a soldier fighting a war. The ambience, everything, it's just amazing. Even if they were to remaster or remake WaW, it would not hit the same as it did back then. The game engine played a huge role in how good the game feels and sounds. The new crappy IW engine will make the game look like an arcadey game, now bind that with sbmm... A recipe for disaster. One of my all time favorite cods. Makes me sad that cod died a painful death. I think the whole Call of Duty community would truly appreciate a “remaster” of this game. I think it would be worth it. Believe me, we have enough remasters. But I think this game would be appropriated. Make it more modern, freshen it up, release this game as it was but just 15 years updated lol. I miss the tank battles. I think the best game mode in this was the simple TDM. As for something more lively, I’d go with the “War” mode. Capture the flags & gain momentum to get the next flags faster. Push to the end! Sometimes, ya fought tooth & nail to hold your last flag, but there was times ya could turn it around. Those intense games of War were insane! Good classic here!
Type 100 with a drum mag, hip fire accuracy went nuts for me. I used the Type 99 rifle a lot as well and then 7 years ago bought one in real life. That Rifle kicks like a mule
Take me back to 2017, 0 people playing SnD, me and a mate 3boxing to trickshot on this game. Hitting bills all day, some of the most fun on Cod i've ever had, WaW is an underrated Cod in general but especially for trickshotting.
Bro WaW is such an overlooked installment of Call of Duty. Like yeah I prbly played the OG CoD4 and MW2 more than WaW but it was still such a fun experience every time.
My fave COD time was Mw/WoW/mw2/Blops/mw3/Blops. I put most play time into mw2 was so addictive and fun ! I loved the brutal realism of this game and the voice acting! Good times
my first n favorite cod of all time 🥹 the following years also played multicod pretty much n constantly revisited this. I feel like it stayed alive pretty good until Modern Warfare 3 came out
Fortunate, my Loadout was the suppressed Gewer-43 and tt-33 because they both had no fire rate cap, so you could shoot them as fast as you could pull your trigger. I was able to fire the G43 and TT faster than the submachine guns and it had more damage too. It was the secret meta of WAW, i EMPLORE you to try it out good sir it shall not disappoint you.
i’d kill for them to make a game like waw with the graphics and details of modern COD, no cosmetics, no ridiculous attachment combos, just the pure horror that was WAW.
Criminally underrated COD right here. Wish these older CODs were more populated. Breaks my heart
There's so many games now it's hard to have everything populated unfortunately
There's discords you can find I think that searches for games
They should remaster this one for people and fans that played this in its prime

I don't think its underrated just old. Everyone i knew played this game back in its prime.
The older cods make you feel like a soldier, the new movement in the most recent games make you jump around like sportacus

Like yeah I prbly played the OG CoD4 and MW2 more than WaW but it was still such a fun experience every time.
you gotta do a waw stream with subs too that would be sick
The most overlooked title in the series. I really wish they would bring out a remaster like they did with cod4 in 2016.
I feel like it stayed alive pretty good until Modern Warfare 3 came out
This game and modern warfare 2 were my childhood. Fortunate enough to have cool parents that let me play these games at 8-10 years old lol
Are you playing on Xbox one fort?
Just be grateful that you lived through the prime era of CoD cause todays generation will never experience perfection like this again 😢
The gunplay of this still looks so good. The recoil from the guns seems so chunky but fair
best SND experience out of any call of duty and it was called the dinner plate
Been playing waw on PS3 on and off for a year I love it lol glad to see you playing it!!
Every gun in this game felt so unique and satisfying to use.
when he said, i really wish i could go back in time and play WaW in its prime again...i felt that. good times.
i’d kill for them to make a game like waw with the graphics and details of modern COD, no cosmetics, no ridiculous attachment combos, just the pure horror that was WAW.
I loved the time 2 kill in this game, Warzone made future CODs bullet sponges
They need…to like NEED to remake this the exact same way again! Mp40, the sounds omg the memories.
This is the COD that started it all for me. Christmas Day, 2008
enjoyed this thanks fort, cod5 was so goat
Bro…👏🏽boots👏🏽on👏🏽ground👏🏽 no sliding. No diving. No jet packs. Just great call of duty
