Tālofa lava Tikopia, nice performance. Your mats remind me of the Samoan mats warn by our Chiefs, Manaia (Prince) & Taupou (Princess), they have the red feathers and design on the mat. Love seeing our Polynesian brothers from other islands. Much love brothers and sisters of Tikopia.
Hi, what an interesting video! I am studying anthropology and I am trying to write an essay about your beautiful island :) if it doesn’t bother you I would love to ask you a couple of questions? Have a nice day!
The drummer seems to know when to beat the drum. I wonder what the connection is between the dancers and drummer. Unlike Polynesian performance this one is difficult to hear a rhythm.
This is really special to witness, thanks for sharing! Much love from New Britain, sth wst Pacific 🌺🌺🌴🌴

are the people Polynesian???
thomas mataloa Yeah, they are.
Their island is in The Solomon islands (melanesia) but their culture and customs are more similar to polynesians.
Apparently decedants of Tokelau
I heard they are similar to the Samoans.
@@Orca322 yup! decendants of Tokelau from the island of Atafu.
Similar to Samoa/tokelau
Yup tokelauans are their ancestors Tikopia and Anuta fled Tokelau during war times passing thur Tuvalu.
