  • Sometimes, feeling blue -- or "being" blue -- is a good thing. Just ask audiences around the world, who've flocked to see the Blue Man Group. They've performed in more than 20 countries for 35 million people. It all started in New York City 25 years ago this past Thursday. Jamie Wax shows the story behind the blue crew.

My daughter was dating one of the guys in the Blue Men group out of Chicago and he got us down front tickets to a show. It was a hoot. It's incredibly innovative and great fun even for "oldsters' like me ( I was in my 50's at the time.} If you are old enough to remember some of the sketches that Ernie Kovac's created in the late 50's and early 60's Blue Man is like Kovac;s on steroids. Try not to miss it if you get the chance to see it.

I'm 25, I think I was 14 when I heard about the blue man. I was in Vegas with my dad when I first saw their picture. As a kid, I was always easily scared of things I don't understand, but with the blue man, it was different. Some how I was drawn to them as a kid. To this day, on and off through time, I never seize to loose interest to this character. Before I leave this planet, I would love to watch a live show of them with my family.

why will you be leaving this planet? Are you going to be a mars settler? Are you an extraterrestrial returning to his own cartoony planet? What gives?0_o

For me, I graduated from college and saw a local news story (not CBS) about them. And then, I saw a hardcopy Wired magazine ad. So, I took my folks and me to see its Luxor show in January 2001. It was awesome! I told my friends and we saw to a MegaTour in Honda Center (just changed from Anaheim Pond) in Anaheim, CA. Again fun!

My old boyfriend said he helped with vocal backing when he had his studio. I would love to know which songs he sang in, Blue men? His name was David Immer. I miss him. He passed away. BUT left a whole lot of music behind. Thank you Blue Men.

I am speaking up after all these years. I started the idea on Wednesday- They were a day later- Thursday. sooooo... The biggest difference is I use materials from Home Depot they use Lowes and Orchard Supply. And I'd never use a word like profundity.
