  • This special education video by The Watson Institute provides information for teaching requesting. Early mand training is a form of behavioral training that uses prompts and reinforcement of requests to get preferred items/activities. It's the first step in teaching language. It is based on student motivation and results in a child with special needs or autism being reinforced specifically with what he/she requested.
    The Watson Institute is a special education school located in Western Pennsylvania that educates children with special needs including autism spectrum disorders, neurological impairment or serious emotional challenges.
