If DBZ abridged continued, my favorite idea was that Majin Buu is his lesser brother, and figured out how to weaken Popo so he can be bested by two super saiyan children. From this, Popo conspires to help Goku train his children in a way that would beat his brother, and in just a week they learn how to turn into a SSJ3. Goku is amazed, and when Goku asks how Popo did it, Popo responds: Pecking order.
it just occurred to me that Mr. Popo says, "Oh, we're going to get along just fine" not because he's hitting on Bulma, but because she threatened to kick Krillin's ass.

Yeah, it's pretty much the polar opposite. If they went with typical abridge satire, he would be a complete pacifist, which can be funny, but being peaceful doesn't also mean you refuse to fight, so it wouldn't fit the character.
