- This week, I thought it would be fun to create our own version of the very popular arch bar cabinets from Anthropologie. But I wanted to do it in a very approachable, beginner friendly way, because to be honest, building something like this takes SKILL. And there is a reason these are so pricey, aka almost $3,000 PRICEY!! So let's create something beautiful and totally custom for way less!

Great transformation...my suggestion would have been to build a base or add different legs to raise it up. I Love the burl wood with the green

I would have closed the sides with pole wrap, and made the whole thing taller by creating an extra set of drawers under this thing.
I love your enthusiasm. You are inspiring! But please use clamps on your wood before using a circular saw. It prevents the wood from sliding and causing an accident. Especially if your blade breaks or you hit a hard spot in the wood. Be careful and keep at it!
I was just looking at this type of shelf/cabinet on Amazon too and wow, it definitely looks shorter than I would have imagined! I was thinking about how to put bendable wood sheets or wood-like sheeting/veneer around the outside to close it in. Love that you've done this as a great example and inspiration for us DIYers!

The Burl wood vinyl really elevates the look. I would like to see it in a room with furniture to better evaluate its look.

Love this. Could also be a solution to a thrifted piece of furniture that is too damaged to restore cause I hate the whole painted wood look. But partially painted with some burlwood. 🤔

It's super cute, but I honestly feel like you could have raised it up by building a base to make it almost as Grand as you imagined

The are literally hundreds of second hand pieces of furniture at thrift stores that would have been the perfect size, made of wood and probably just as cheap as this piece you bought from Amazon. Please consider used furniture that would otherwise end up in the land fill instead of handing your money over to Amazon for low-quality things like this. I think with your talents you could have made something really amazing.
I laughed so hard when you opened that box! It made me think of those play kitchens for kids. It was so tiny! You worked your magic and it came out fantastic! Doesn't look like kiddo furniture anymore. Your imagination must be working in overdrive 😮. I like it as a bar cabinet. Too nice to use as a craft storage solution in my opinion but you would probably make that look divine also.

This is beautiful! the only way I could see it being closer to the inspo piece (size aside) would be if you wrapped in it the poly wall, covered in the burl on the inside and painted green outside.

One thought I had was instead of contact paper burl wood, what about a roll of real cork?

Amazing job!! I think one way to take it even one more level up besides adding extra legs for height would be to close in the sides using the material you used for the backing (since it’s flexible to make the arch). I think closing in the sides would just make it a tiny bit closer to the inspo photos without having to make arched doors. Would also help it not feel cluttered! Keep it up, loving your channel!
