  • I was delighted to get an opportunity to chat with RTÉ television and radio presenter, and now author, John Creedon. John gave me 45 minutes of his time to record a special bonus episode of Live Irish Myths in Conversation. We spoke about his TV programme, 'Creedon's Atlas of Ireland', now in its second series on RTÉ 1, and his new book, 'That Place We Call Home'. John has long been fascinated by Irish place names and folklore and that is very obvious in this lovely conversation.
John's book can be purchased here:

You have the look of a man who knows a lot more than he is saying in this interview but is doing an excellent job of letting the guest talk

Love this! As a Mc Mullen/ Ní Mhaolaín, I appreciate this information. Although I was told my name came from Argyll Scotland. I suppose the Celts were at it again!

Would it be true to say that the earls were the last leaders of the gaelic world in Ireland of there clans / people before envision of ULSTER but also that these leaders the earls left and abandoned there people/Clans .

See him scratch his nose talking about the wolf hound , he knows the lie behind the Irish wolf hound , they were created by Anglo Irish to try and match witj the setanta story but culainn got his hound from the Spanish so it would have been a molasser type like the Roman war dogs, not a sight hound
