  • @ 34 years old MJ displays the highest form of basketball skills you will ever see. Past his physical prime but at his peak in terms of basketball smarts this is the equilibrium between his athleticism and basketball skills personified.
His face up and turn around fade aways were just a thing of beauty, nothing does it better. His stroke was smooth and can stop and shoot in a dime (probably the quickest pull up from 1 to 2 dribbles) it was pure perfection.
His advance footwork was just amazing faster than any other players i've seen, he has high and low post game to boot, catch and shoot and he moves without a ball with a purpose no waste of energy.
with those air jordan playoffs on his feet... it's amazing to see the master at work.

The greatest Basketball Maestro at work! Damn, it's exciting to watch MJ scoring! Anyone in the NBA who's close to this level? None! Hope one day there will be another true Maestro, who's truly passionate about basketball and the game!

How could anyone be compared to this perfection?
MJ looked better at what he did on court than anyone in the history of the game. When I watched during his first three peat I would say to myself. He looks like a pro playing with against/ with middle Schoolers. Lol
That's how much better he was than the rest.

The untrained eye will definitely fool you. Yes MJ can easily be debated as the best highlight pleasing to the eye player ever but that does not equate superior skill/greatness overall
Tim is one of the most boring players to watch ever to the untrained eye while Kyrie Irving and Derrick rose and Vince Carter are amongst the best ever to watch
However tim will forever be levels above those guys for all the more stuff he brought to the table or any given team with his body and abilities combined
The same holds true for wilt, bill, Kareem, elgin, and west over jordan (tho elgin was extremely flashy himself)
They also did it among far harder competition and rules and pace

I watched NBA from 89' season . Jordan was unique back then, but u put him in todays NBA,hes not,cos after him there was a waves of super Athletic, super skilled players. Before him? who? noone reallly, peaple are atract to stories, bullshits, myths ,its all part of cult, religion type of create a fundament for everything.lest just see how NBA sounds in 80's or 90's..commentators after even simple baskets create myth behind everything, create Gods, while from 2000s NBA u have commentators who are looking to downgrade certain stars, its huge effect on mind of observer. I watched every game of Jordan in 90's.He was amazing shooter with perfected 2,3 moves in well oiled machine of Phil Jackson ,Triangle system, who privilage to play in had Jordan and later Kobe, proved to be superior to other systems. We can easy predict that if Jordan would be picked for exaple to other organization and hes road would be different,he would be great but without 6 rings. Its a case of beeing in right moment at right time. Other thing is that we dislike someone cos of his political wievs,Lebron whiloe Jordan chose ideal aproach, never be involved, kudos. What competition Jordan played against? Oh i remember and i laugh on everyone who create myths. Bulls never faced amazing team in Finals.Lakers?Old trash.still on my vhs.Blazers? Tough team, great defenders but offense?trash.Drexler was not himself, team with just one star really, who was outplayed.Suns? team with one star,i remember how stupid basketball sometimes they played. after that u have Sonics, nice team but if Kemp is your first shooter,u have problem, its not team u fear of.Jazz?ok Jazz i like ,structure, two veterans, great players, but so unathletic, rely on Pick on roll all day. Where those teams are compare to Spurs,Warriors,Lakers from 2000-2020? I Shooters everywhere, its different basketball, how bulls could defend that?of ,my eye is well trained.
      1. James
      2.Jordan

The 1997 Bulls have one of the 3 hardest defensive roads to the title amongst championship teams. Only the
    - 1997 Bulls
    - 1999 Spurs
    - 2004 Pistons
have won the championship while facing 2 sub-90 PPG defenses in the Playoffs.
All 3 teams that faced more than 2 sub-90 PPG defenses in the Playoffs
    - 1998 Pacers (3)
    - 1999 Knicks (3)
    - 2004 Lakers (4)
    failed to win the championship
The 1997 Bulls collective Playoff opponent win% was 0.686, the 2nd-highest of any Title team that played 4 rounds.
Among Title teams that played 4 rounds, only the 1995 Rockets had a harder Playoff strength of schedule with a 0.726 collective Playoff opponent win%.
Under these incredibly hard circumstances, Jordan at age 34 still put up 31-8-5 on 46% for the 1997 Playoffs and led the team in 5/5 categories for the last 3 rounds collectively.
The 1997 Bulls also have the 2nd-lowest Playoff and Finals scoring supporting cast (Team PPG - Leading Scorer PPG) among title teams, after the 1998 Bulls. Meaning the opposing teams could focus more exclusively on Jordan under these harder circumstances as well.

I only realise now, years later, how important Jordan's other hand was at pushing away the defender trying to hand check in - watch closely, he does it in most plays, it's a thing of beauty.
Easily the greatest player in the history of the sport, and I don't see that ever changing.

Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Tim Duncan, Shaq, Reggie Miller and many more I can't think of ARE NO WHERE, NO HOW, NOT EVEN CLOSE to being BETTER THAN JORDAN.. Kobe may have a chance as being the closest but NEVER WILL BE BETTER. Jordan's moves so fluid and his fakes and turn around jumpers are UNSTOPPABLE, then everything else cannot be Matched!

    • @Amjbmcg
      @Amjbmcg 10 років тому +1

LOOOL. Kobe is a joke. LeBron, Shaq and Duncan make him look like a scrub and are close to Jordan. I'm a HARDCORE BULLS FAN FROM THE 90'S. I can imagine you are a kid. Kobe is trash, how dare you say he is the closest, he is not a top 25 player of all time.
MJ shot 46% facing weak teams in this playoffs above, he's not perfect, and won easy championships, no team could have beat him, he had a great team, the best team. This isn't trashing MJ, because I wouldn't use championships for any player.
He's the GOAT, and 96-98 was the best time to watch basketball, even though MJ was worse, doing less and the league had a lot of expansion teams. But the atmosphere throughout America was something I can't explain.

    • @Famous1MB
      @Famous1MB 9 років тому +1

***** Im not a kid and I'll tell you Kobe is close to Jordan...And a little insight before you bash and curse me for saying that (Michael said so himself)And every GM would tell you...Kobe would run circles in Jordan's era...Kobe would shoot 50% to if you play straight up defense!!!...We talking bout Kobe Bryant who thrives in one on one...Kobe would destroy those smaller guards...If the man can score 81 in today's game then no doubt Kobe would back then...If before you say it was "against the raptors"...Jordan never scored 81 vs the leagues laughing stock teams then...

The guy could score in so many different ways. Look at all this different fadeaway shots he hits. He was truly the GOAT and the king of the fadeaway. He was Fast, athletic and strong but yet he beat you with the most basic fundamental techniques of the game. Foot work, head fakes, pump fakes, foot jab, drop step and more. Kevin Durant, you have years to go to threaten this man's status, Many have tried and failed miserably.

Jordan was just baptizing those defenders, they never had a chance. Man I remember this year, the 97Bulls had some good games against the 97Knicks, there were supposed to play eachother in the ECF but Knicks played Miami in the semi's and the Heat cheated the Knicks by starting that brawl that year and getting the Knicks players suspended for those playoff games. That 97Knicks team vs the 97Bulls would have been a good matchup.

I hear a lot of people say that he lost a little of his vertical! Its not that you lose vertical....its the weight you gain as you get older.....your body goes through weight changes. your weight at 18 is not the same at 34...the strength is there....just getting that xtra weight off the ground is tasking.

If you look closely, this video also shows why Dennis Rodman was great. Look at every shot that Michael takes while Dennis is on the floor. Dennis ALWAYS had a better position to rebound than his defender. Commitment, will and great fundamentals are only a few qualities that these guys had and most of them are missing in todays players.
