Amazing job. I like the end result.
But some tips that would help you. Pure Acetone is not just used for nails, but it is good to have as a customizor. I would pick some up - would make you life soooooooo much easier.
Also removing heads you could just put their heads in a bag and then the bag in hot water. It would losen up the head significantly and make it much easier to remove and prevent any damage.

@@zedabyu I usually use it to remove paint, but Dollightful uses it also for head shrinking. Gotta be careful on what plastic you use it on - like Barbie head is fine, Barbie body not so much.
@@zedabyu Some types of glue can be removed with it, it can corrode some plastics and it can sometimes make doll bodies matte, which is sometimes a good thing. Some inks come off with acetone too
making the eyes bigger really makes her look more like the movie, who knew that such a small adjustment would add so much...
maybe you can turn one of those extra barbies into the tour guide barbie from toy story 2?
I was thinking of turning one into the vandalized barbie that Stinky pete got stuck with at the end but the purple dress is not an actual dress unfortunately so I might have to find a custom one.
@@zedabyu that's a good idea, i don't think i've seen anyone make that barbie. the dress seems very simple i'm sure you could find one!
Acetone is for everyone and quite the tool. I tend to leave paint and glue stains behind whereever I go and it just takes it right off. I haven't painted my nails in many years and I still go through acetone on dolls. Invest on a bottle, it's cheap and the easy fix for most things
I love seeing adults playing with barbie's it makes me fill less weard!
Seeing you modify a Barbie like that reminds me of when I modified one to turn it into Gwendy Doll from Small Soldiers 😅 Very fun to do... except for removing every hair from his head...😆

Just a tip for when you remove Barbie heads, boiling water in a cup and place the doll head down in the water, if you don’t want a wet doll, put the doll in a ziplock bag before putting in water. Leave in water for 1 mins or so.

Another easy way is heating of the head and neck joint with a blow dryer and pull the head off. (Caution with this method. Avoid getting the hot air on the hair. It will melt).

@@trubigkid1056 lmfao me too. The best way to do it is to set it on low. Point the blow dryer downwards, away from the hair. Only getting the lower half of the face & focus it on the neck. 🤷♂️

The face of the barbie dolls is removed using pure acetone, it is more effective and faster (do not use it on the body because it melts the plastic) the correct body that the doll should have is a TNT body with straight arms.
You just had to cut the bangs to the desired length and then apply hot water and hairspray to keep them in place.
Actually Mattel did not make exact replicas of the dolls from the movies, but this is still because Pixar also changed the designs
Acetone and nail polish remover aren’t always the same and rubbing alcohol doesn’t remove paint as well as acetone as acetone is a key component in paint thinner so it will remove it
After a long wait, it's finally here, a customization on the barbie dolls, feels good to finally see it
As a doll collector we are in two camps. Those who keep everything mint and those of us who take everything out of the box. (There are folks in the middle who pick and choose). We joke that the dolls need to breathe. Some of us joke that keeping them in boxes make them evil and they will come alive and attack you for keeping them trapped.
Mint condition is relative and designed to give simple toys extra value (its a scam) but if you just want a toy from your childhood, good condition is sufficient.
Take dolls out of the boxes. 🙄.
heat the head up with hot water or the heatgun to take the head off, its 100% easier than taking it off using force
+its less risky about snapping the neck plug
Fun fact neither if them have the body sculpt from the movie . The body they used its 1966 barbie body . the 2019 barbie do have the head sculpt used for the movie which its super star barbie head mold . And based on the face paint used in the movie the barbie may have been released on 1997/99 its when barbie was using the white stripe on the eyes . hope this help someone when creating their own toys story barbie.❤️😘

btw that sticky doll problem just happens to old packaged dolls and figures, can be solved with warm soapy water and a microfiber cloth

first you did a great job on those 2 and I have a recommendation for an easy video for slinky get rust red leather ear and a real slinky and "the hardest part" filing the holes because we're the string was it left a hole and in the movies he has no holes

@@zedabyu well with the 75 anniversary slinky dog once you get him out the box he has a strip so you don't stretch him out to far and I recommend looking at toy story 7:56 and you can see he has smoth plastic and no holes

I think the white you used was a little dark, could have been lighter, but still good!
Great eyes! It was a linen+grey mixture that I use for my 1/6 scale sculpts. It's easier to work with compared to white so I just went for it, but I guess with such a small area, white+thinner could work as well.
I turned my TS4 Barbie into Tour guide Barbie and she looks so much better I kept her face the same I just used the 1999 body from TS2 for her movie accurate hands from Toy Story 2 and 3 and I guess 4
May I ask why you don’t try the “soak the head in hot water to soften and pull it off” method that I’ve seen multiple OOAK creators use?
His toy mode is actually shown in the Groovin’ with Ken short as well as his box

Well done dear. I hope you will use your extras to practice various tools and techniques, I am sure your gifted eye will lead you to further solutions. I expect I have a few pair of extra Barbie shoes, all from back in the day, if you truly need them. I restore Barbie’s and such to playability for children in need, so I always have some. It is difficult to gauge UA-camr finances, perhaps I should just focus on the kids?
By the way, Barbie and Ken are made with extra difficulty concerning head removal and makeup change, largely due to children trying to refurbish old ones from the sixties into the seventies. They are designed to fail in refurbishing, so you should congratulate yourself!
Oh I didn't know you are such an expert at Barbies! Interesting... So that's why I had to sand til my hands ache haha. Absolutely, the extras won't go to waste, and I'll find a way to deal with the shoes situation, don't worry about me 😊

By the way, acetone is the right way to go. Sometimes the paint is just more difficult to remove. Nail polish remover without acetone is even worse.

I am happy with the length of the fringe, it's the puffy-ness that is making it look unnatural, so I decided to reposition it the way I like it.
