I can remember a kid in class telling me that this song meant a Creeper was stalking you. Now I know this is false lol, but it used to terrify me so much.
It brings back memories of Minecraft 1.5, back when I was new to the game. I remembered the first minecraft house that I made. It looked like garbage, but I was proud of it.

This song might not mean anything to some people, but this song means so much to me. For years I've been alone. I remember playing this game as a child all by myself and I remember how the soundtrack stood out to me. It was calming, enjoyable, sad and lonesome. A few years later, after I've stopped playing it, I remember being in a state where I really felt disconnected from reality. I struggled feeling satisfied with my life and had little to no emotions towards the people around me. One day I decided while I was working to listen to some calm music. I wondered why not some nostalgia, maybe something like minecraft. When I started playing the minecraft theme song I burst out in tears, remembering the innocence that I once had. I felt ashamed at what I had become and decided to become a better person. One step at a time. I also remember reading a person's comment in which they made the remark that most people only notice the music when they are by themself. In a strange way I see it as the game trying to tell you that everything will be fine. Nowadays I refuse to play it, not because I'm all grown up, but because it feels more special to me as a memory.
I know sometimes you pour your heart into a comment and no-one see's it or acknowledges it, I'm here to tell you that I see your comment, and I am proud of you, for growing into a better person, for starting to live the life you deserve. good luck in life.
This song brings me to a specific location in my dad's creative world. Me and him used to play a lot. That was 3 years ago. He's currently on the verge of death, unable to breath on his own. I wish I could play Minecraft with him again...

I wish it was 2011. When Minecraft was still this incredibly primitive game i would play for hours on end. Just full of all kinds of bugs and glitches that made part of the games charme, like how you used to be able to duplicate diamond blocks by placing them into the world then leaving using Alt+F4 because the world and inventory were seperate files and saving the world would happen all the time but saving the inventory only while in the menu. I really wish i was still the 11-year-old i was back then.

This song in particular was probably the most nostalgic for me, since it's the one I've heard most often throughout he years, so I'm going to comment this here. God, it's been almost 10 years since this game was first released into the public. 10 long years of a game with a creative idea, beautiful music and a very... interesting... fanbase that I've met many of my closest friends through, many of which I'm still close to today. For me personally, this game was a huge inspiration to my creativity, it helped me eventually learn basic perspective which became useful when I wanted to start comic-making, it made me interested in programming which I actually do quite often nowadays, and I'd honestly just consider it to be the first "fandom" I got into. This game was a part of a huge chunk of my childhood, with me first getting the game after begging my parents on my Xbox 360 when I was in the third grade, all the way back in 2013. Both me and my twin brother became obsessed; we loved playing this game and discovering the possibilities of this world that we had built ourselves, with nothing holding back out little dorky 8-year- old creativity. Eventually after around 2 years my brother began to think he was "too cool" for Minecraft(haha I know 5th graders are just the pinnacle of coolness aren't they), and I tried to tell him he wasn't but he didn't care and honestly I gave up. We kinda drifted apart for a while, he did his thing and I continued to play the game with my other friends, while also continuing to get into drawing and other stuff that I enjoy now(yes, I made Minecraft fanart, I would burn it but it's honestly so bad it's good). For a while we kind of kept to ourselves, but we realized after a while that we were pretty distant. My brother became very social and happy-go-lucky, whereas I became more timid and quiet. I'd still play the game, but much less frequently. Eventually, my brother became concerned with me, seeing that I wasn't really doing much outside of watching UA-cam videos(I had gotten out of my phase where I'd just watch Minecraft videos and nothing else)and occasionally drawing. He decided to to reach out to help me and just generally talk with me about life and help reconnect our long-lost bond that had been cut off a while, but he set it up as an exchange system; we'd do something I wanted to do and then we'd do something he wanted to do. I remembered the fun times that we had playing Minecraft as kids and decided that for my end of the bargain the we'd play Minecraft. Slowly my spirits began to lift(it wasn't by too much, I'm not cured of my depression, but it was something). We've begun to hang out a lot more since then, sometimes we'd even play without me doing something with him in return. This game has honestly been such a huge part of my life, it went through my childhood, my middle school years, and even freshman year in high school so far. I've played it whether I was happy, sad, stressed, whatever it was, it was my escape from reality, and after 10 years, it's still alive and well.
Looking back on this comment 3 years later, completely forgot it existed but hey here we are now haha. Not to add onto this without any warning but I think it's interesting that I commented this only a couple months before Minecraft's resurgence. I actually kept playing it pretty frequently in its dead era even if it wasn't as much as I used to, and even more so once it was popular again. About a year after this comment was posted, I decided to make a survival world that very quickly became a world for both me and my brother (we had mostly just done creative worlds before this.) I spent my time building silly things and collecting resources, he spent his finding any way possible to kick my ass with the most OP enchantments he could get his hands on (there weren't really as many options as you'd think given the fact that we were playing on the Xbox 360 edition still, I wouldn't get my Nintendo Switch for another year). This world was the first one we ever managed to beat the Ender Dragon on, and we were looking at possibly trying to beat the Wither but we didn't have access to the Xbox for a while and our interest in doing that petered out. We still play games together frequently though, right now we're both in the middle of a 100% completion on the old Lego Star Wars TCS for the 360. We're also looking at buying Skywalker Saga for the Switch (but it's so damn expensive lol). My depression was also, as told by one of my teachers, likely caused by ADHD (which I had been theorizing on for a while since I read up on the symptoms and was like "oh wait that's not normal??"). I talked to my GP about it a while ago but we haven't been able to coordinate anything diagnosis-wise. Baby steps though :D Anyways, I'm graduating in a few months, any my brother and I are staying close to our hometown at two neighboring colleges (he's majoring in marketing and I'm going into graphic design), so I hope we'll be able to play together frequently.
i remeber the xbox 360 we had. me and my dad had a world called epic. we would play on it together every day. i rememver we had dogs ingame. god i miss you so much daisy.. unfortunately ill never see her again..
A puppy is born. It happily follows its mother around the white taiga as she looks for food. They chase a chicken, and then when it grows bored of the chicken, it chases its tail. The sun begins to set. The puppy follows its mother home. They settle into their den and fall asleep. The puppy dreams. It dreams of a vast forest and shifting leaves. Someone is standing by a pond. The puppy wakes up to find its mother waiting outsidem
This song was my favourite song out of all the alpha soundtrack (With 'Sweden' being a close second). The first part made me feel home back in 2010, in my little cave home. To my cobblestone 'mansion', it still has made me feel home in Minecraft.
This reminds of just walking and adventuring the Minecraft plains and not caring about anything and not knowing what I’d encounter just simply enjoying the scenic mountains and I can’t have the feeling I once had as a kid I just made made memories not knowing what that memory would become today…
2020 players: wow, this is a cool song, Its a bit loud though 2015 players: theres the nostalgia. Man I had so many Worlds 2010 players(me): ... *its beautiful, so many good times, and more to be made*
Nah man im 2020 player and i can feel it... Every time creeper blown up my house or die in lava this music play and make me smile again... It just beautiful and calm
I first Played Minecraft before I even knew what to do, I had accidentally deleted it after my curiosity led me to hit reset to factory default settings and by the my kindle was too old to handle Minecraft, back when it was called pocket edition. after years of having not played and forgetting about the game, I rediscovered it in middle school, I realized what I had been missing out on this whole time, all because of my incompetence. I hung out with my best friend recently and I said hey screw it let's start a survival world and so we did and thus the memories will begin.
Still stands as the best game soundtrack ever. It's not nostalgia speaking, it literally is. Some guy made a video about, go watch his video. Can't remember when I watched it...
This reminds me of a time when I we standing in my neighborhood street, and it was a cold winter night, and it was snowing, and I remember listening to this song during that time and looking at the street lamps piled up with snow...C418, thank you for making this, this is my favorite one!
I always think winter too... especially because my very first memory hearing this song I was exploring Minecraft and it's mountains for the first time, in awe.
man, i remember this being the first minecraft song i heard in the tu14 tutorial world on my ps3 in 2014 when i was 3, man this is way to nostalgic for me
Songs such as Taswell and Blind Spots (On volume Beta) play in creative, but songs likr Subwoofer Lullaby seem only to play in survival. This song, Mice on Venus and a few others seem to play in both.
After tree-hopping all night to evade zombies and spiders during the second night, I reached the ocean, and the sun began to rise as this song played. It really gave the feeling of accomplishment and perseverance, like I could go on another day, no problem. The natural beauty of the world was congratulating me.
11 years. Time really does flies, doesn’t it, ladies and gentlemen? Oh what a ride it was, and oh what a ride it’ll be. I wish you all happy crafting and safe mining.
I loved this! Me and my friend had a single player world together on my old computer that I only went on with him. It was an island you could swim under where we built a house and a bridge to the main land. At the main land there was a very thin but tall mountain with a waterfall going down in a lake at the bottom. We swam up the waterfall and built a little cabin at the top. We used to watch the sunset up there listening to this song (among others) and when we were getting off we usually jumped all the way down into the lake. We both grew up and now we rarely see eachother anymore. The memories we shared. Everything was so simple and yet so fun. Man how I miss those days.
this song holds a special place for me honestly, although its not my favorite song from Minecraft, that has to be moog city, but every time haggstorm comes on, i just feel some type of way. not to mention this was the first song that came up when i first started playing Minecraft. I remember it was on a trial version of the xbox 360 and i was playing on my older cousins xbox downstairs, and id go to their house almost every friday and go to play the trial version and it used to only let you play the tutorial for a short while, but i miss the hell out of those old tutorial buildings man, it just brings so much nostalgia especially with all the secrets and hidden levers and the nether portal hidden in the huge Minecraft sign in the air, i remember the first time going into the nether my cousin was like "this is basically hell!!" and it just made everyone laugh. how much i would do to go back to that
This song reminds me of a time when I was at my best friend's house playing on his Minecraft world. When I logged in he locked me in a cage and gave me steaks so I wouldn't die (he didn't want me stealing anything since I was joking about stealing). I broke my way through the iron bars with my bare hands and rushed towards his chest room. After about a minute I found it. I grabbed all the diamonds that I could and then he killed me. Then, I ran back, took an iron sword out of a chest and killed him with it. Then I logged out with all the diamonds. After messing with him a little bit I logged back on and gave them back to him. It was a really happy time in my life. He moved out of state two years ago, and I haven't had a friend like him since. He was the first person who tried to be friends with me after I moved into town, and I don't think I will ever have that kind of relationship with anyone else ever again.
Bro idk if you'll see this since it was about 4 years ago but im sorry to hear that it suck so much but i just thought i'd let you knwo that you arent alone and i haven't had anyone to play with except my self for years of playing minecraft yet i still had so much fun and had so much nostalgia :) you will find someone in time for now you have got yourself
I loved all C418's minecraft songs but this was my Fav from i was a noob till now watching The sunset and this music is playing damn those good Ol Times
I remember the time I met a friendly skeleton in Minecraft back in 2012. I was amazed and just astonished at the sight. This game has made me so many memories, and it will continue to. Thank you Minecraft. Thank you C418, Notch, and every other person that volunteers or is a part of this game deserves a medal. Thank you.
"Day 4", you write down in your Book and Quill. "I've got an iron sword, and a set of leather armor." "Let's rush the night." And then you run out of your house, brandishing your sword into the darkness.
I first played Minecraft about 2013, after a year I deleted it. After 6 years I saw the game still up and running and I decided to download the game again to see all the new changes, even if it was in Pocket Edition. I was surprised by how much new stuff there was, and to add to nostalgia, Haggstrom was the first song that I ever heard in Minecraft and that song played right when I started a new world
I’m typing this comment on December 20th, 2019. This is one of the final days of the decade. This was the decade of games. Minecraft’s decade. Sadly, people won’t listen to these songs and get nostalgic over them the same way we do in the present.
Right now in 2024 it is still active, I am playing a world with a friend and we had a great time, every time I hear this song I remember me playing Minecraft on my brother's PS3, I remember my first world, I remember that it is I likened the song to the dogs and my pets in Minecraft, sadly I won't be able to see them again because the ps3 disk split and broke
+Mist Fading OMFG but not, it's 4 points, 3 for atheists. To help the humanity progress (technologically and biologically) and to feel the most experiences you can.
Personally, this is my favorite Minecraft song. Wet hands and subwoofer lullaby coming it at a close 2nd and 3rd. It might be because this was the first song I heard on the game, but the song just gives a sad, then an uplifting feeling. Amazing song.
Ok, this track... the sun coming down, the sky bleeding red... You know you have to get back to shelter, to your home. Your home. Where everyone else in your small faction is. The server only has 20 slots. You don't care. Less people mean more people to connect with. To bond with. To play Minecraft with.
Thank you for all the memories you've brought. You are an amazing artist. The memories are flowing in, all the houses I've built, all the friends that I've made. Thank you.
I remember going up to visit my cousin in Maryland, she introduced me to Minecraft and I loved it from then on. I got it and played the hell out of it and did for years, watching Minecraft content, playing Minecraft with new friends, loving every second of it. This song reminds me that this game, no matter how needlessly complicated it may get, no matter how many annoying deaths I'll die, no matter how many times I cringe at new Minecraft UA-camrs, I'll always love the game of Minecraft and what it did for me as a kid. I'm still happy every time I play
this game helped me through my parents divorce in 2011 and if c418 sees this i’d like to thank you for from bringing me up from crying all day with my door locked to having great times with friends
I remember the good old times. Harvesting my corps with this beautiful music. My dog barking inside my not fancy basic wooden house. Chickens at backyard. Oh man. I hope someday i will feel the same peacefull feeling that day.
I like how I can always come back to the soundtrack and just instantly reawaken all my old, good Minecraft memories. I occasionally stop by and just sit down and listen to the soundtrack while I draw or read stuff. This game is beautiful. :)
I can remember a kid in class telling me that this song meant a Creeper was stalking you. Now I know this is false lol, but it used to terrify me so much.

This song is so nostalgic. I would call this the Nighttime Song. I'm tearing up.
And I thought I was the only one. It just needs to be less...perfect. Game-ified.
It brings back memories of Minecraft 1.5, back when I was new to the game. I remembered the first minecraft house that I made. It looked like garbage, but I was proud of it.

Both me and my twin brother became obsessed; we loved playing this game and discovering the possibilities of this world that we had built ourselves, with nothing holding back out little dorky 8-year-
old creativity.
A Really nice read! Thanks for sharing!
Baby steps though :D
Anyways, I'm graduating in a few months, any my brother and I are staying close to our hometown at two neighboring colleges (he's majoring in marketing and I'm going into graphic design), so I hope we'll be able to play together frequently.
It was nice to read this comment and it’s sequel in the reply section hope you and your brother are doing well and that your graduation goes/went well

Hope this game never gets forgotten. This game gives me so many good memories holy shit
i remeber the xbox 360 we had. me and my dad had a world called epic. we would play on it together every day. i rememver we had dogs ingame. god i miss you so much daisy.. unfortunately ill never see her again..
Imagine yourself in a frozen forest...?
Very fitting for the song. I imagine that's what c418 may have just been thinking about when he wrote this.
Frozen forest? Black ops 3?
LizzyTheRed Fiske Ja, das ist gut.
And then the puppy tragically despawns as the player walks too far away for its chunk to be loaded.
I love haggstrom and btw when ever i hear this song in the game it's about to rain or it's dawn
same
It's scripted that way

This song was my favourite song out of all the alpha soundtrack (With 'Sweden' being a close second). The first part made me feel home back in 2010, in my little cave home. To my cobblestone 'mansion', it still has made me feel home in Minecraft.
I understand I loved to play the demo even the real game was already playable
This reminds of just walking and adventuring the Minecraft plains and not caring about anything and not knowing what I’d encounter just simply enjoying the scenic mountains and I can’t have the feeling I once had as a kid I just made made memories not knowing what that memory would become today…

I’m getting nostalgic and I’m crying rn because I remember it so muh

This reminds me of a time when I we standing in my neighborhood street, and it was a cold winter night, and it was snowing, and I remember listening to this song during that time and looking at the street lamps piled up with snow...C418, thank you for making this, this is my favorite one!
I always think winter too... especially because my very first memory hearing this song I was exploring Minecraft and it's mountains for the first time, in awe.
man, i remember this being the first minecraft song i heard in the tu14 tutorial world on my ps3 in 2014 when i was 3, man this is way to nostalgic for me
This song made me tear up for some odd reason...... Maybe it's nostalgia!
Is it me or do the songs come on at set times? Because this always came on early morning or late evening
Slimeslayer Gaming! like what
Songs such as Taswell and Blind Spots (On volume Beta) play in creative, but songs likr Subwoofer Lullaby seem only to play in survival. This song, Mice on Venus and a few others seem to play in both.
@@johnes4882 is there a way to make them play each time after 10 seconds after a song ended
I know that certain songs play depending on weather it’s day or night
nop all random
Played during the first night! I lived in a dirt hole in the forest to avoid the creepers... Good times, except I starved...
After tree-hopping all night to evade zombies and spiders during the second night, I reached the ocean, and the sun began to rise as this song played. It really gave the feeling of accomplishment and perseverance, like I could go on another day, no problem. The natural beauty of the world was congratulating me.

this piece is what got me into minecraft and whenever I hear it whilst I'm playing it warms my heart
I remember it was on a trial version of the xbox 360 and i was playing on my older cousins xbox downstairs, and id go to their house almost every friday and go to play the trial version and it used to only let you play the tutorial for a short while, but i miss the hell out of those old tutorial buildings man, it just brings so much nostalgia especially with all the secrets and hidden levers and the nether portal hidden in the huge Minecraft sign in the air, i remember the first time going into the nether my cousin was like "this is basically hell!!" and it just made everyone laugh. how much i would do to go back to that
Idk why out of all minecraft songs that made me feel nothing, no nostalgia, no sadness... this one made me tear up slightly
I remember being 7 and thinking this was the best song out of all of them
The entire song is beautiful but I'd say the best part is from 1:48 - the end. 😍
I think the segment before this is the best part, but then again, this whole song is a masterpiece.
agree agree that was the part i remember

저는 마인크래프트의 분위기는 C418이 만들었다고 봅니다. C418은 제가 가장 존경하는 작곡가에요.
