- In this interview with #RajeevMasand, #AishwaryaRai explains why she thinks the decision to dub for the Hindi version of #Maleficent2 was a stroke of destiny, reminisces about the last time she played a ‘dark’ character in Khakee, and explains why she may be finally warming up to the idea of doing a streaming show.
Aishwarya rai belongs a normal family not a richest. But by her struggles confidence and patience got top level in all actresses. It is not a easy for anyone.
South indians are very smart, reasonably good hearted, not evil or sabotaging most times, very ambitious and goal setting people...

I know right. So am I. I mean seriously so many excuses i just want to see her on movies this time. I really miss her being on films. she used to be so elegant so mesmerizing to look at. @Take Care Truly. Even at the age of 46, brands are signing her. Loreal chose her for Paris Fashion Week ,Disney signed her. She is still endorsing longines, making into list of prominent Indian, Influential Indian woman. Really a great achievement.

@Saurav Bhowmik That's why she said she wants to be more careful with her choices. Because when they execute it, the final product is different from what she expected. All the movies you mentioned have good premises. Ae dil he mushkil, she stepped down to the second lead role and tried a different type of character but still, none of them worked.

And she deserves respect because she represented India so many times on international platform as Miss World and now as L'Oreal Ambassador. She was the first Indian actress to give American interviews. Sadly, she lives in a patriarchal society where women's hard work is never appreciated and people end becoming jealous. And that system is held by women too.

I know it becomes difficult to be perfect all the time but as a public figure, you need to show some diplomacy. We all want to follow you. The media is always trying to pull you down and you need to use some smart strategies to overcome them. LOL @ the comments bashing Aishwarya. It always felt like people are jealous of her or judgemental of her. Discrediting all her achievements saying oh it is only because of her beauty, and blah blah. ANd she is plastic. What even do you mean by that?
She earned her position without any star family backing and had her own share of struggles surviving here. If some of her films were flop then she has also done good works too. Just recently watched Raincoat and I really wish to see her in a subdued and subtle kind of movie like that again. All her recently flopped movies, I can imagine how interesting they sounded when the story was narrated to her. Some were even adaptations of the already successful movies. Now that she is not a young beauty there are limitations to the roles she can choose and she doesn't want to waste her legacy by doing something bad.
I have high hopes about the coming Mani Ratnam movie, a villainess and then double role too. She was always good in Mani's movies so I hope this will be a good one.
Also, somebody please cast her and Vikram in a superb movie, they had such intense moments in Ravanan.
