I am having a low salt error and the electrodes don't have any build up on them. Clean as a whistle. Still getting the low salt error. The unit's fix to this is to simply stop working? I have had this problem every 2-3 years. Starting to think it is a planned failure by the manufacturer. Ridiculous.

I'd be happy if I was getting 2-3 years. I've gotten 9 months out of the past two. Finally switched to chlorine pucks.

I miss one important part here: Intex QS500 should have a self-cleaning function built in. Does it not work for you or is there a reason why you didn't mention it?

Is the heater worth it? I mean I live in Louisiana and it gets cold like one month out of the year I was thinking of getting one but then I’m like I could just take a bath.

Mine is doing the same thing even after I’ve cleaned both electrodes. Salt level is fine but not working. Anyone with any suggestions thanks In Advance

Did it clean all the salt? If so you may need a new cell.

Take both of them out and soak them over night in a cup of vinegar so it’s completely covered obviously you don’t want to cover the electrical connection

Same here. Have 3 chlorgenerator the 5220 from 2018 isnt working even with cleaned nodes.
But i can manipulate it by lowering the resistance and it works for a few days again.

Same here. 1 year old generator, stored dry over winter. No buildup on either set of plates AT ALL. Salt level is actually too high and the generator still shows low salt.
