But technically someone can argue, correctly, he was in no danger, no physical harm was to come to him, except a fan groping his person. He reacted excessively in the eyes of the law. It's like bringing a gun to a knife fight, you're doing too much. Also self defense laws usually involve an obligation to retreat before you defend. Not jump off the stage with your fist coxed back. Also self defense has nothing to do with immediate reactions, it's about the facts of the event and what the law/statute says. He should settle.
