gifts for paper lovers - ep.3: it's always worth saving or how i salvaged torn maps for book covers

hi everyone,
welcome to episode three of gifts for paper lovers series. in this week's video, i'm working on saving these torn-up maps salvaged from a travel guide published in the 1880s.
i'm using heat&bond iron-on adhesive to connect all the torn pieces together, 5x7 chip-boards as the base for the covers, scrap linen for the spine, and some very basic tools: scissors, ruler, bone folder.

Also, I was wondering why the backing on these maps turned purple? Or, did you bond them to something else? I've never used heat N Bond before.

Hi there! Thank you so much for watching my videos!! I use tissue paper to back the heat n bond and make it easy to glue. Normally I would use white tissue paper but the store ran out of white ones so I bought the purple ones instead. Quite a long explanation but I hope that makes sense ;)
