- How to fix Black Screen When Screen Sharing on Discord (Netflix, UA-cam, Hulu, etc)!
1. go to the voice and video tab in your settings then go to video codec and disable OpenH264 Video Codec, disable both of those options of you want.
2. if you go farther down the voice and video tab you'll also find a setting for "Use our latest technology to capture your screen." this has worked for some people.
3. But if it continues to be an issue where you only hear audio there is one last method that did the trick for me was actually going on chrome and going to settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom until you land on advanced drop down menu. Look for the setting that says "Use Hardware Acceleration when available" and disable that feature.

Still works if you’re wondering. But the setting is called graphics acceleration now instead of hardware acceleration. All my homies watching NBA now.

What if none of those things work?
I used to share Google Chrome, then it did EXACTLY all this. Then I went to go Edge and it started doing it after a while also. I have zero clue what’s happening

for firefox users, you have to uncheck "use recommended performance settings" under "performance" and then you get the option to uncheck the accelerated hardware

PSA to anyone doing this! Turning off hardware acceleration on google chrome WILL break google earth and google maps. It's probably best to not leave it off, and only do this if you are going to stream. Otherwise, leave it on, since it can break certain websites

@@pacificproductionsofficial Pretty sure it has to do with a certain graphics driver setting being turned off that's within hardware acceleration. There is a name for it which I cannot remember.

You dont need to turn off hardware acceleration off on discord, it is just your browser

I have a little problem. When I stream movies the stream is very bright. If I exit full mode and open up another tab overlapping that screen that I stream then it isnt as bright anymore. Couldn't figure out what is going on.
