Nice videos! But the airflow of this build is bad! You should make the radiator fan push the air through the radiator outside (behind or above). It is a bad idea to blow hot air inside the case. And if you dont want to have a dusty PC very quickly there should be more input fans than output fans. I see one input fan and two output fans. Inform yourself about positive / negative air pressure and its effects. How I suggest doing it: - AIO CPU cooler blows air out at the top behind to the case - 1 fan blows out at the back above the case (as you have it already) - 2 fans input air at the bottem in the front of the case - 1 input fan from the bottom of the case As you have an AIO CPU cooler there is not much airflow in the case but the motherboard needs some cooling as well. Therefore it is advised to have some airflow in the case and some more case fans. For X99 socked quad channel RAM ist best for perfromance. Especially when rendering. So I would go for 4 * RAMs from scratch.
I went with this build. just a warning - The ASUS X99-A Motherboard's are apparently having issues. I had to send mine back in, and had to pick another one (different type). Other than that, everything works really well
Heads up, you don't need Nvidia/CUDA to render on GPU, most modern video editing programs support OpenCL, which is Open Computing Language standard, supported by AMD and others. With that said, R9 380X should be enough to make rendering up to 6x faster compared to CPU, but some money can be definitely saved on CPU.
great video! i might build something similar to this.. But isn't the RM850 a little overkill? I think the 750 would work perfectly fine and it will cut the price too
+ChildishAverino We're glad you like it! You most likely could cut down to a 750W, but buying the 850W allows more room for upgrades and will perform more efficiently.
What editing software Ahamed uses & what are the real world render times he is having using this CPU & GPU. Let's say for a 5mnt DSLR 1920*1080 video timeline using some CPU & GPU based video effects..
How would the order of importance change for 3D Modeling/Animation PC's? I know the CPU plays a huge part in rendering speeds. But what about limitations of RAM and GPU?
+Jason The CPU is certainly very important, as is the amount of RAM you have. Of course, the GPU is also important because it is largely used to render the models. A 3D modeling build would be quite similar to this video editing build.
Thank you very much for the insight. I've started to do some research on graphics cards. Do you feel like the AMD RX480 might be a better choice? It has VR capability as well as the option of crossfire (maybe an upgrade in 1-2years). I'm still deciding if I should get the 970 or the RX 480. The RX480 isn't yet listed in your component list so I'm eager to know what your opinion is :)
I can't find this exact motherboard on the Amazon.co.uk website. Can you recommend an alternative from the UK site that will work well with all the other components pls? Also planning to up the RAM to 32GB and use a GeForce GTX 970 graphics card instead for use with Premiere Pro. Thanks
Hey there, I believe this is a link to the mobo on Amazon UK: www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Intel-Lga2011-V3-M-2X4-Motherboard/dp/B00N98RXQO?ie=UTF8&tag=logicaincre05-21 Here's another that would work: www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-X99A-Sli-Plus-Motherboard/dp/B00V4V4SFC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1467043969&sr=1-1&keywords=X99+motherboard And another: www.amazon.co.uk/Sabertooth-X99-Motherboard-Socket-2011-3/dp/B00VUK54F0/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1467043969&sr=1-4&keywords=X99+motherboard
This is the first time I've ever tried a manual build and I'm using your video as a bible but I'm a bit concerned that the Corsair H55 cooler may not be up to the job if I'm overclocking etc. Should I perhaps go for one of their slightly more expensive models to be on the safe side? If so, what might you recommend that would be compatible? Thanks! :-)
Thanks for answering, but I already built my pc. I toke the Be Quiet dark rock 3 as cooler and the corsair rm 650 as psu. And I have 32 GB ram and the asus strix GTX 960. Thanks for the great video it helped me a lot.
I'm thinking of completely following this build step by step (with a nvidia gpu instead of the asus) if I follow this video exactly frame by frame will it be enough to guide me to the end result? Building a pc is all new to me :P
I'm new to computers and technology in general. Would I be better off getting the iMac 27 inch. or just building one like this? I just want something simple..
Personally I would go for the build in the video, but its subjective. Mac OS is great and if you prefer their video editing software, especially, then its worth going for. There isn't a technically correct answer.
That is generally where you want to put the intake! Additionally, with the good air flow and radiator, there isn't really much of a need to worry about dust or anything entering.
Is there any flaws in this build? Cause I am going to do a lot of high quality 1080p to 4K cinema4D rendering, which mean that I'll need this cpu for making my render go faster. But I really want a long-lasting PC so I don't want any flaws or too negative impacting things. But would you recommend this for rendering videos with really intense quality?
I am especially worried about the liquid cooler, is its durability good enough for it to last at least 5 years and is it better than a normal fan such as the Noctua NH-U12S?
There aren't any flaws, no. You could get better components certainly, but the build is fantastic as-is. The liquid cooler should last that long, but that Noctua cooler is a great alternative option if you are concerned.
Logical Increments it says one additional 8 pin pci connector is needed but yes I am using this build. others have said this still will work it just doesnt have the dual connectors
This guide is for a custom build - one that you would assemble yourself after buying all of the components. If you are looking for a company that builds systems for you, however, Puget Systems is quite good.

+Giulio Mecacci The i7-5820K is currently better than Skylake CPUs such as the i7-6700k, so the CPU is certainly in no need of an upgrade. That' brill - thanks for your help (and videos) - very much appreciated!!!
If you plan on doing no gaming at all would it help to buy a workstation card like a Quadro or a firepro or would it be a waste of money?
That depends on what you are using the PC to do, but I believe that, generally, it would be a waste of money, yes.
This is the first time I've ever tried a manual build and I'm using your video as a bible but I'm a bit concerned that the Corsair H55 cooler may not be up to the job if I'm overclocking etc. Should I perhaps go for one of their slightly more expensive models to be on the safe side? Brill :-) Thanks again for your help.
I wanna go with this build but not a liquid cooler.(do you know a good air cpu cooler?)
And is it needed to have such a big power supply?
You could get a good air cooler, we reccomend a lot on the site!
Most PSUs are quite large.
Tim Montanus what cooler do you recommend?
The 212 Evo is a good, standard HSF. It depends on your budget and how much overclocking you plan to do.

I'm new to computers and technology in general. Would I be better off getting the iMac 27 inch. or just building one like this? I just want something simple..
If you like the Mac OS then go for that! They are solid computers, if a bit overpriced for the hardware. This build performs great for the price.
Like I said I am new to everything so I just need something simple and will last me a while. Which would you recommend personally?
Personally I would go for the build in the video, but its subjective. Mac OS is great and if you prefer their video editing software, especially, then its worth going for. There isn't a technically correct answer.
Hello, I want to ask you if this PC is 64bit or 32bit? I am asking for windows installation process, thanks
This is a 64bit system, for sure!
with the hardware included in this build, would one be able to dual boot Mac OS and Windows?
I believe it shoot be able to do that, yes!
Why would you put an intake in an unfiltered part of the case?
That is generally where you want to put the intake! Additionally, with the good air flow and radiator, there isn't really much of a need to worry about dust or anything entering.
Is there any flaws in this build? Cause I am going to do a lot of high quality 1080p to 4K cinema4D rendering, which mean that I'll need this cpu for making my render go faster. does that video card have cuda cores?
CUDA is specific to Nvidia cards, so the 380X does not have them.
then why run that card if that does not help with rendering...? weird pick for a card without cuda cores.
It still renders very well, for the price.
What do you mean Romano?
+Romano
Still not quite sure what you mean, but ok!
Can I edit 1080p video with 2.7 ghz 2 core processor with 8 gigs of ram?
Ideally you would get a better CPU, but you're system may be able to slowly render and edit.
I'm doing this built can I use windows 10
For sure!
Do you think that a gtx 970 will bottleneck a 5820/30k in editing?
It likely would, but not hugely. In most instances it wouldn't really be a problem.
Very nice video..thanks.. by the way.. the name phonetics of PC builder are "Ah-Mud" not "Aha-Mud"....lol... 😀😂😁😃😄😆😉
I might Go with this Build. Let me know if its still the best one.

The graphics card price spikes this past year have been due almost entirely to cryptocurrency miners draining the supplies.
The RAM prices are a combination of similar crypto phenomena and RAM usage in smart phone manufacturing (among other factors).
thank you!
why not a r9 390??
You definitely could include a 390! The 380X typically is a good bit cheaper for only marginally worse performance.
=D where i live they are not much cheaper thats why i asked =D
and i myself have a R9 390 too.
Makes sense! The 390 is a great card!
=)
This build costs 1589,2 in Belgium.
Sorry about that, all the prices are done in USD in this video! If you need help making a cheaper build, I'd be happy to give some advice.
Thanks for the video
But, we both know..this wasn't the real deal.
How one may ask...nice build..no Grounding.
But, it was a clean presentation, I'll give you that.
We're glad you liked it.
4 sticks of ram would of been better.
They perform virtually identically, and this allows more upgrade room.
Board has quad channel support, I would of used it from the start. ;-)
Haha you definitely can if you want!
only one advice atleast use 970
+Software Keys #Cracks
You certainly could use the 970 is you wanted, but the 380X is still a great choice for this build!
Ah-ha med
ugly ram :(

It's extremely high quality, though, regardless of what you think of its aesthetic value!
