- In this video we begin cutting first crop hay with two new seedings of alfalfa hay. We used the Kubota M9000 and the International 1490 haybine to lay the hay into windrows to be later baled into round bales. We hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching!

The sickle does the best cut of any agricultural mowing device. Low to ground and doesn't thrash the plant. Great work Hank, Keith & family. Love your style of farming.
it is up to each independent farmer to choose their weapon of choice to mow the field laughing we bale right ofter it cut down we chop it for silage we 2 hours one way to chop in the fields we chop and blow it right in the pits as to the quality of our silage doing it this way remarkable we can control the silage quality better we do add wheat ot barley in with especial making winter silage for the cows are outside
we tried silage bags ice roads we abandoned that idea too i did not like the ruts and the mess the bags lift in the fields I am a clean freak as to how my field looks to
theirs is not and right way or wrong way to silage it how you do it on your farm
laughing here not many places tile we do and run it into a dig-outs i have been told i wasted my money especial when o put an irrigation system in with it takes one drought to pay for the waste of money to pay off last year it did we put in fewer crops last year we had a fire out of control in our bushland cut the planting season down hand my employee's on the fire line too taking manpower away and a lot of equipment too
we did have the best year for a long as to harvest went too

Hank.. I may just be easily impressed, but I think you have a real flare for film making. I am a classic film guy. I have watched tons of old movies (*especially love pre ~1960 fare). I love all the different creative camera angles, and the editing work. When you take time to make a nice video, it does not go unnoticed by me😉. It is a rare pleasure to see something of this quality on UA-cam without a team of creators behind the scenes. Btw- the heifer calf [that my pet cow had on President's Day] is a monster. She is not quite 4 months old. I took some measurements the other day. She is 53.5" heart girth by 52" length from head knot to tail. If the formula for weight is accurate, then that calf could weigh 451 pounds!? 😲 I have to get her to a scale. The mother (Linnea) makes enough milk to be a prized possession in y'all's barn- Baby Abigail has a permanent milk mustache 😂. I love seeing your heifers. Jerseys are such pretty cows.

Very nice Hank, good drone work, lots of close up shots.The master mower did somenice close work on the back cut near the fence, missed the utility poles by inches. Seems to have really good color for some reason. Good job!

Thank you. We're trying to find a way to make more videos happen. We've lost Hank to a better-paying job so I have to re-learn camera operation. If you search "Lydia Fink" on UA-cam for her channel, you can see that she is making some videos from the barn.
