My question is how many of the fans are hating Jones (even more) for holding up the division for well over 2 years. He wouldn’t move up and fight Francis and then makes us and the division wait 2 more years to fight a retired and beaten Stipe?
Agreed. But Alex is doing the same with choice matchups, whilst the #1 contender deserved the title shot before he was even in the LHW division.....yet he is everyone's (including my) favourite fighter. Aren't we guilty of double standards? I think so.
@@Professor_Pink Amen. It is a big case of double standards. Alex has his stans, I think thats why people dont mind that he is running from Magomed Ankalev.
@@josephboza7448In both those cases you have to factor in UFC's responsability. I believe they could have made the Ngannou fight had they been willing to offer the money Ngannou and Jones wanted, without wanting to extend Ngannou's contract, which he clearly didn't want to be subjected under. They're the ones who made an Ankalaev fight the same month Pereira was fighting number 8 for the belt, which to be fair was a gift title defense for being so active.
UFC’s forgetting that even if Pereira v Jones could be a bigger event, there’s way more money in making Aspinall a crossover star. Pereira might have 1-2 years left in the UFC, but Aspinall could be a top heavyweight for another 6-8 years. That’s the guy you want to have a win over Jon Jones.
What if he loses though? No one seems to factor that in, as if a win was a given. Then your potential "future of the HW division" champ is forever under the shadow of having been beat by an old Jones, not being *that* good/special. Big gamble. In a way probably better he retires Jones without fighting him and keeps that aura from it
Bo Nickal went on a tirade about how much better he is than Khamzat Chimaev, called the fans idiots for not appreciating his performance. If this were Jamahal Hill or Joaquin Buckley these clowns would have dedicated a segment to roast them but Mike wants to give Bo the pass for some reason. We all know
Stipe is lowkey overrated; Dec.13th 2014 he lost a Un/Decision to Junior Dos Santos. He was almost KO’d in the Overeem fight as well. Blown up stocky DC got a lucky KO, but still gave Stipe a fight. Stipe is a very beat able fighter. Jon is the 🐐at HW & LHW. Nobody including Francis beats Jon. I think Jon is definitely on the decline overall and can really see it in his athleticism, he was only 238lbs for the Stipe fight after cutting from 270 to 265 for Gane fight. Jon is a true LH but he’s so skilled he could even weight in at 205 & still best HW’s on the same night! I wasn’t disappointed in 309 cause it’s exactly the card I expected. Co-main delivered but still didn’t capture enough aura to salvage this card. 6.5/10 card for 309. 310 even with new main event will be 🔥 and if delivers… could be a 8.7/10 card. Shavkat vs Garry is game & Pre’s are stacked.
Tom Aspinall is NOT the best HW in the world. Ngannou is. He has the resume. He hasn't been so inactive to remove him. He hasn't been beaten in MMA since he rose to prominence. He lost to one boxer and deaerved to be the lineal HW champ after beating Fury.
@@Sergio-dh5qh I agree. Jones could beat Ngannou. I have it 50-50, maybe even favoring Jon slightly. However, I place Ngannou ahead of him because Jon is relatively untested and inactive at HW. Ngannou's been more active at HW in the last 4 years, and he had 2 boxing bouts as well.
@@Sergio-dh5qh yet he wrestled Gane 😂 and took down the big fella in his recent one 😂😂 but "no ground game " Ok Maybe if Jones wasn't so scared, we could've found out how bad his ground game really was
I’m confident that Jon will easily beat Tom Aspinall. He’s going to take Tom down & submit him. Go watch Tom get submitted in 2015. I’m not saying Tom is a bad fighter but there is levels to this game & although HW. The fighters Jon has faced in the past are just way more skilled than Tom both on the ground & on the feet. Tom should fight Gane before he deserves Jon. UFC messed up putting at IT tittle on the line for Tom vs Sergei.
BC going straight at Ariel in that first round. And spitting facts

Serious question: Should Aspinall go almost lose a fight to Parker Porter, so Jones gets the confidence to fight him?
Imagine if Bo was Buckley, Jed and Mike would have a field day with the whining . We all see through this outlet selectively choosing who to target.
You mean Jed would, and Mike and A.K. would just fall in line.
What are you on about?
No. We don’t all see what you’re yapping about .
