Not everyone has the privilege to know the exact names of the dances in their languages of origin. At least they give credit to where they get it from. It may be too general but at least they acknowledge it.
You don't need to be born in Africa to dance Afro but honestly, you can always tell in a way. For one, a lot of people who dance Afro that are not African tend to try to be really precise with their moves. It's like when Jazz became theorized, you lost a little something about it. Most Africans dance spontaneously and on their own rhythm. If you ever go to a club in the lively cities Lagos, Nairobi, etc. You'll see what I mean. There's always a drunk person killing it. Music and rhythm is cultural.
