Outstanding and amazingly fluid animations utilise all the power of Sega CD Technology!
Brilliantly rendered transitional sequences bring all the intergalactic action to life!
This game can be crazy hard at times if the enemy waves arnt shot down fast enough as there bomb can be hard to hit. I was abit reclass at the start as I didnt realise that your energy refils over time , never at the start of a stage. You only get 1 life, and no continues!
The narration is also a poor effort. I suspect there are some emulation errors, but it does perform the same in kega and gens-rr.

For a low color palette Sega CD FMV game, I have to say this is pretty good.

For those of you sturggling to understand the intro narration over the blaring soundtrack, here's my best guess:
“It is 2500AD. Humans, after a long period of peace and prosperity, were suddenly attacked by mecharoids from the planet called Gurzon. The Earth defense forces put up a fierce resistance, but in vain, and Earth’s cities are reduced to ashes. The surviving Earth defense forces launch four spacecraft to obtain A/X-101, the ultimate weapon [inaudible] from a mysterious vessel called Prism. Their mission is codenamed “A/X-101 [inaudible]”.”
So much for sound mixing.

They did something clever They have those two mini monitors that are just copying some of the video to other parts on the screen hiding the fact that you have such a small play window.

Sega has lost a great opportunity with megacd and it could be a good continue for the next gen if it was just a bit more powerfull. It was the beginning of the end for Sega
