Hi from Canada! 🇨🇦 I've been watching your videos and they've helped me a lot to understand the educational system in the US!. I'm thinking of applying for a Doctorate in Psychology in the US. I have a Degree in Psychology and a master in Sexology, a lot of clinical and research experiences. How does the admission process work? Is it hard getting in ? Here in Quebec, it is extremely (if not impossible) hard..
    Thanks ! :)

Great question! Usually most schools will detail what they need from students in the application process whether letter of recommendation letters from supervisors, personal statement or essay, clinical and research experience, good gpa/gre scores, and strong interview performance. I believe application deadlines are in the fall and acceptance letters in the spring the following year. Depending on what program you apply to the competition can range with phd programs being more competitive and psyd programs being less competitive. Hope that helps!

What are some examples of clinical experiences? When I think of that my mind goes to ABA behavioral technician work, Sheppards Pratt, maybe shadowing at some clinics? But I’m not entirely sure, what are some examples?

Yes shadowing, ABA, case managing, secretary or clerkship at a mental community, psychometrician, suicide hotline, drug and substance use helper, psychiatrist assistant, and so much more! If you need more ideas feel free to reach out to me on my website at philsarpong.com for a consult, best of luck!
