War Horse -- Horse Fight
The stage version of War Horse became an instant hit when it was premiered in London in 2007. Based on the best-selling children's book by Michael Morpurgo, it follows the fortunes of Joey, a young horse purchased by the Army for service in World War I France, and the attempts of young Albert, his previous owner, to bring him safely home. Alongside the human characters on stage, South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company brings a variety of animals - including breathing, galloping, full size horses - to life on stage.
As the horrors of war loom nearer, Joey is introduced to Topthorn, an imposing Cavalry stallion with whom he will ultimately become friends. But before leaving together for battle they must size each other up...
