You guys were far too kind.
Mazda is simply not serious about building an EV. The Mazda MX-30 is not a ground-up build EV. It looks to be thrown together after removing the ICE components of its ICE counterpart. This affects many aspects of the car - for example, there is a raised floor where the drive shaft would go in the back. Handling will also be out of balance when compared to its ICE counterpart too. There is a huge bonnet with a lot of empty space, and it lacks purposely build aerodynamics to give it a longer range. Even the battery level monitor on the instrument cluster is a repurposed fuel gauge.
The biggest letdown is the battery capacity, charging rate, and of course the price. The 200 km range is nowhere near enough; if it actually gets that distance with the 30kw's of usable battery. An early BMW i3 being 8 years old, has a 15.2kw usable battery for about 110km, but it is much lighter and more aerodynamic. So for the Mazda, I would not expect 200km's of range at all, because the front is shaped like a brick. I get this is meant to be a runabout, but that is simply not how we live in Australia. Sydney's metropolitan boundaries for example stretch 88 kilometers. You literally could not drive from one side to the other, and then back again with any peace of mind.
The charging rate is also terrible. It can do a maximum charge rate of 37kw an hour. This is meant to be a 2022 car. As it stands, at this price point just about all its competition is about 5x this charging speed, with Hyundai & Kia being close to 10x this speed. Then there is the price. The car you were testing was a fully specked version at $65k, noting you are in NSW. When I checked for Qld, it was $69,468. To be fair, if this was a base model, I have read it would come in at closer to $35k (if it was offered). Sadly, the sales in the US have decreased to only 8 units sold in July 2022. From launch last year, they sold about 500 of them in total. There is a very good reason for this.

I own the petrol version of this car, and yes it's definitely not a family car and that's fine because I don't have a family to tow around. This car is perfectly fine if you're single or a couple, anything more look elsewhere. I wouldn't put a baby seat in the back as you'll need to open the doors out all the way which will be difficult in you're in a tight spot at the shops.

This Mazda is a sad joke. You can buy a Tesla Model 3 RW for almost the same price and it offer 491km range, 6.1s to 100km/h, a proper 5 seater with massive storage space, big screen and packed with clever technology such us over the air update, auto pilot and remote control. It can also charge extremely quickly at all super chargers so you can use it for long distance travel. Its even more economical, using less electricity.

Poor first attempt. This car would have been a good first attempt 12 years ago. Its horribly outclassed today in that price range.
