Quick question: if the permissions boundary policy has let's say EC2 perms, would that mean x-user will have IAM + EC2 permissions? So can permissions boundary have more permissions in essence?
No. Consider like the policy will be defined in permissions boundary for eg accessing Ec2, but it will only be used if the user has those policies defined in the iam role policy. It's like the permissions in permission boundary could be used only if the identity based policy grants those permissions
