The idia and ortho personal ceremony stories are honestly the saddest things ever. Every other story is lighthearted and funny but these two are just so bitter and end up making me feel a pang of hurt. Social anxiety fucks you up like that. But also. Mal really seems to think he is vibing with idia not knowing what distress he is causing smh. He really isn’t smart is he, he saw both Idia and Kalim in robes yet his brain is still not computing and put his foot in his mouth while at it. Smh when will these two become friends.

My heart breaks so bad for Idia, and boy was pre character development Riddle and Vil especially cruel to him, but with chapter 5 having Riddle interacting in a better way with Idia I think the gang of chapter 1 is gonna come back to assist the chapter 5 gang with him, as many speculated that Savannaclaw is tied to Diasomnia in terms of plot and parallels with Leona from the intro and ceremony robes story being connected (again notice both Riddle and Vil in Idia's it's a theory with lots of basis). I don't wanna blame Idia too much cuz we don't know what he has been through yet, I'm sure he was betrayed by someone in the same way Meg was (again many theories he's a mix of Meg and Hades as he has her good looks and long hair and sass) and the whole dead brother revived as a robot thing. Siiiigh these boys are such messes

@Anime Fangirl When it comes to social anxiety, or even a lot of other mental health disorders or illnesses, it's very easy to blame others and/or ourselves as to who or what caused it. It's especially bad enough (if not worse) if the one actually suffering from it is the one blaming themselves more than anyone. In the end, though, it's never really anyone's "fault," or not completely if anyone said or did anything to start or worsen it, weather intentional or not. We don't know yet what really happened to Idia, or even if what might have happened to Ortho really had anything to do with it (it probably did, but there's no official confirmation on it yet). For him having to have social anxiety or whatever else and not being able to know from the very beginning how to avoid it? No, that's definitely NOT his fault. No one early on in their lives knows for sure how to do it. And for those who never have or will go though with it, they're not as likely to know either because socially, they were predisposed to be able to deal with it a lot easier. And thus a lot of the well-meaning but mostly unhelpful advice from them like "Calm down!," "Don't doubt yourself," "Just go talk to that person," "Just be yourself!," "What's the worse that can happen?," etc. Idia and everyone else, in both the game and in the real world, have their own predispositions. It's not even his fault for not seeing what's really going on with him, why he feels the way he feels about people, and how to deal with it in a much better way, as painful as it may feel at first, or a lot of the time. With that said, it's also on him to do something about it and get the right kind of help. He has the ability to do that even though he doesn't realize it. And FYI, this is coming from someone who still deals with social anxiety (but to a lesser extream than Idia), who is doing what they can to try not to be so hard on myself, and trying to get better with it even if I'm more limited on doing so now due to COVID.

I always thought they were friends! Or on the way to because friends! Think about it: both are socially awkward, both only know their families and everyone else shoved them away. Maybe they talked a bunch of times and that’s why Idia doesn’t stutter around Malleus!
Well, I guess he didn't struggle talking to Malleus as much. He still seemed anxious around him though. It probably doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they both don't socialize with as many people outside of their family or dorm members, but they both misunderstood each other from their conversation. Malleus thought it was strange for Idia to be wearing his cerimonial robe because he thought Idia was actually going to meet with Ortho outside with the robe on when he didn't have to wear it for that. That's why he thought it was strange and that it was no big deal since he didn't realize that Idia was expected to give a speech in front of everyone at the entrance ceremony, he started to get so nervous that he ran away from the Mirror Chamber, and that it was the actual night for the ceremony that Malleus kept missing since day one because he was never informed about it. Idia assumed Malleus knew what he was referring to, so he felt offended for thinking that Malleus was invalidating his anxiety for having to speak in front of others. He also thought Malleus was saying that he didn't look good with the robes on when he probably never thought that about him at all. Maybe, though, if they got to know each other more, they might make good friends.
Well, since we know that there are different prerequisites depending on the dorm on who to decide will be dorm leader, with Ignihyde's case, it may have to do with how knowledgeable and skillful you are in technology and using it with magic since it's a world that uses both in some way or another. Kind of like how a potential Pomefiore dorm leader needs to be very knowledgeable and skilled in making poisons and potions.

After reading both Idia and Ortho's Ceremonial Robe stories it paints a very sad and sympathetic situation about insecurities and lack of communication doing harm to relationships. Idia doesn't know why Ortho wants him to participate in social situations and just assumes if he isn't there to bring him down, Ortho will have more fun with others. Meanwhile, Ortho wants Idia to be there so they can make more memories together or at least take a picture together. When Idia doesn't show, he assumes it's his fault for trying to push Idia past boundaries he isn't ready to cross. They want what's best for the other, but don't communicate (I'm just taking a wild guess and thinking that Idia is wearing noise-cancelling headphones and can't hear when Ortho is trying to talk to him through the door in his CR story) and just assume that they themselves are the problem. It's really painful to watch and with what we're discovering so far in Chapter 6, probably adds to Ortho's own insecurities about who he is (or rather, isn't).
I am an introvert and I do prefer to avoid social gatherings. Idia, I know how you feel, and Riddle had no right to tell you those things. It takes a lot of energy to be in a crowd, it takes a lot just to speak to others. Hey Idia let’s cuddle, eat ice cream and binge watch some anime. Let’s forget the world for awhile.
This is the vignette that really spoke to me. Idia bases his whole life on what others might think of him, and the duty he has to fulfill for his family line. I relate to him so badly when it comes to his agoraphobia.

As someone who’s been sorted to Ignihyde I can also relate to him. Just like him, I feel only comfortable, like really comfortable with 1-2 people only and they’re my close friends. I also have social anxiety, I just can’t bear to be in the center of attention in public, just too scary, I often just freeze or look away from people and just look at the wall whenever I do presentations in school. I’d also often have thoughts of skipping school or faking sickness just so I can procrastinate the presentation because honestly I’d prefer to get a 0 rather than stand in front of a lot of people and talk. I also seem to be insecure of myself, no matter how much I try to “think positive” I just always seem to be negative even though I tell people to not be negative or think negatively. And Idia, you’re not useless or worthless, or an embarrassment. You are none of that, the prove is even though it was hard for you to go to the ceremony, you did go to the chamber of mirrors and to me that is honestly a huge character development for you. Because if I were you, I would have not even think twice of going, even if one of my friends forced me to, I’d stay in my dorm, probably on my phone or taking a nap. So the fact that you even walked out of your room to the chamber of mirrors, it means that you have improved yourself and is doing better already.

Okay... I may be rude and mean, but in my opinion if he continue to say he is useless, he will become one at some point. And I don't care what he can do if he cannot even keep his promise to his own brother. For me one is useless not because of the things they can't do or do wrong, but because of that what they act like. Shot version: For me If you are useless as person, you are useless in general. This is my opinion so, you don't have to take it to heart.

Okay... I may be rude and mean, but in my opinion if he continue to say he is useless, he will become one at some point. And I don't care what he can do if he cannot even keep his promise to his own brother. For me one is useless not because of the things they can't do or do wrong, but because of that what they act like. Shot version: For me If you are useless as person, you are useless in general.
