    I am so disturbed by people who eat others, and speak of others as if they are a stack of books. I am tired of these supposedly "fun" bits. I'm supposed to be used to it because I grew up with it.
    The older I get and I'm getting there, the more disgusting it is to see EVERYWHERE, images of dead animals on plates, images of happy pigs on a flesh delivery truck, the smell of it everywhere.

      Yes. It's not funny. Cruelty to thinking feeling beings. Here too in supposedly vegetarian India, actually just about 30% of the population is vegetarian though heavily into bovine milk, people make fun of vegetarianism: "Oye ghaas phoos he he he". Ghaas means grass in Hindi, phoos is a meaningless word maybe used to vaguely evoke straw, 'bhoosa', or indicate something silly or slightly disgusting or worthy of contempt. Amazing how people can be so callous. They come up with their trump card as they imagine it to be : "plants have feelings". Illogical and lousy lame excuse.

      It's what people grew up with. It's like slavery or abuse towards women. It was the "natural" thing to do. Now most people see it as the hate and violence it is. At least in the U.S., it was only 30 years ago when it became illegal to r@pe your wife. So to go from not r@ping your wife to not being a jerk to animals is a big step for most people. Not everyone r@ped their wife but very nearly EVERYONE eats animals and is constantly told they HAVE to for one BS reason or another.
      It's an uphill battle but cultured meat should become more available in a couple years and once cowless cow milk is cheaper than standard milk, the dairy industry will crash and burn spectacularly.

      Apparently none of you has visited a vegtable/crop farm and got to witness the cruel deaths of the thinking, feeling animals that call the feild their home. Dismemberment, drownding, poisoning, buried alive, ran through the thrasher, and suffocation in the collection bins are just some of the ways these being spend their final moments. I feel much better about the animals I eat, knwing their are laws inplace that address their suffering. When I eat plants, I always feel a little guilty knowing that vast numbers of beings who value their lives as much as I do, not only gave thier lives but often suffered the most horrible deaths so that I could enjoy that meal.

    This is not mainstream British TV. ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ is a show screened on Talk TV in the UK, Fox Nation in the US and Sky TV in Australia. Talk TV is Rupert Murdoch’s television offering in the UK. It is streaming only, I think. It launched in 2022 and hardly has any viewers. The guy is Richard Tice, a right-wing businessman who helped found the Brexit Party (which was actually a company). It changed its name to the Reform UK party and Tice became leader when Nigel Farage resigned. Tice became a Brexit Party MEP.
    The woman in pink is Tice’s partner, Isabel Oakeshott, a political journalist. She has apparently written a book called Farmageddon about the true cost of cheap meat but you wouldn’t guess that from this programme, The woman in the cream outfit was introduced as a former Brexit Party MEP. Paula Rhone-Adrien is also a Talk TV contributor who’s obviously just there to give the appearance of a balanced discussion.
    Richard Tice is an extreme right-wing nationalist and these are his buddies - don’t expect anything sensible or factual to emanate from these programmes.

    Hey Mic, I just wanna say I love you and everything you stand for and thanks for continuing to make these videos all these years. I started watching when I was 18 and trying to decide the best path to take my diet and your super informative videos helped me wade through all the disinformation out there and land with a strong conviction that a vegan diet is not only the best way, but the only way. I became a vegan overnight after I just turned 19 and I’m about to turn 25 in a couple of months. I don’t watch every single one of your videos (though I used to) because I’m not always nose deep in vegan content anymore, but I love the homely sense I get every time I come back to your channel. Whether you’re doing a skit or a reaction or just shoving some science down my throat, your channel is a safe place I can always count on for some content I relate with. I’m still not the healthiest I could be because I’ve been eating a shitload of gluten throughout the years and I only recently realized how terribly allergic to it I am. It’s (I assume) been making my body swollen, bloated, sluggish, and I think it even started manifesting in small, white/red, itchy bumps sparsely scattered all over my skin. I stopped eating it completely about a week ago and I’m starting to feel better already. It’s weird because, I’m hardly eating right now but I feel out of my mind FULL. My body will hardly let me get a bite of food down-but it will accept smoothies and soups lol. As well as some kimchi and sometimes olives. I even accidentally had put a sauce I didn’t realize used wheat gluten in it on my food the other day and started feeling sick, VERY sick, after just a couple of bites. It’s crazy how intelligent the body is-it feels like it knows I’m listening now so it’s making the cues louder and more obvious. I’m pretty sure you had some videos on gluten so I’m gonna go refresh my memory on them. I know it won’t be the same for everybody-I just can’t believe how outlandishly allergic I am to the stuff without even having realized. I used to eat it day and night, for almost every meal, and now I don’t even feel like myself if I ingest any at all. Cool stuff. Sorry for the essay. Love you, bye!

The following year, he was actively promoting meat products and dairy products, so what occurred to me is that the program was perhaps told they were not allowed to promote non-meat food because it would be bad for the meat and dairy industries. So, the people on this tv show may well all be quite happy with the vegan alternatives but are perhaps encouraged to promote meat and dairy and discourage anything that would be a danger to those industries.

    Hello [disclaimer vegan here in support of your channel], just wanted to make a correction on something you said about the Amazon being 80% deforested for cattle production... I studied cattle pasture land use change in the Amazon for my PhD. The total deforestation rate is actually estimated around 20%, with cattle pasture conversion accounting for ~68% of that. As a result of fragmentation, the cumulative ecological effects (increased fire risk, habitat fragmentation, species loss, diminished evapotranspiration, etc) are somewhat higher, but it's important to report these numbers correctly, because the negative effects observed- particularly to the hydrologic cycle of eastern Brazil- have resulted from ~20% deforestation 9(i.e., where will we be as deforestation inevitably progresses?)

    Thanks. Really that tv programme was loaded, negatively from beginning to end: a foregone conclusion, obviously they set out with an agenda to play to the huge gallery of veganism scoffers, having decided that logic, fairness and common sense would be tossed out whenever needed to prop up their 'veganism is silly, funny, absurd, not doable' or some such mindset.
    Yet some gesture must be made, some effort put although it seems a well nigh hopeless task, to point out the flawed reasoning: if that fluffy airy agenda driven discussion could be called reasoning. So thanks for the video. I saw Happy Healthy Vegan's video on the same tv programme, which expectedly seemed to be on similar lines as this video. More power to, Ryan and to Mic.

The truth is the boutique vegan cheese we have access to here in Texas from Rebel Cheese is is much better then the “real cheese” I find at parties. The high end vegan cheeses are crazy good and everyone vegan it not enjoys them at a potluck. Real cheese to me now that I almost never eat it is no better then cheap vegan cheese, it all just tastes like oil to me. You’re vegetarian. If “99% vegan” is a phrase you commonly use, please stop. You’re 99% plant-based, not vegan. We have words for a reason, when people like you start attaching the wrong label to your actions, you only harm the cause. Vegans don’t eat cheese, ever. If you tell people you’re basically vegan you’re selfishly making it harder for us to campaign for change. If you want to use the label “vegan”, go vegan. Otherwise, be vegetarian or 99% plant-based while supporting veganism. You can do both without regressing vegans’ progress.
      Veganism isn’t about food, it’s not a diet, it’s a philosophy. Not eating animals is only a consequence of holding a vegan belief. The term you’re looking for is vegetarian or “99% plant-based”, which describes your diet specifically.

    • @BenHuttash
      @BenHuttash Рік тому

      All of y’all telling me I’m plant based as if that means I eat 99% vegan food need to start checking labels again. Plant based labels don’t mean anything other then meat free. Some things labeled plant based are vegan and others are vegetarian. If you think plant based exclusively means vegan you probably aren’t as vegan as you think you are. I’m going to continue to use the term vegan for food that is vegan because it is the only word that actually means vegan. Y’all just need to get over it.

The fact humans in nature would never rely on a vegan diet provides sufficient evidence that we likely depend on at least some animal food for certain nutrients and more bio available amino acids.
