    Brilliant video. I have a vax blade and I absolutely hate it. Its a good vacuum, but its the fact that you have to clean it every time you use it. I wish I was not such a cheap skate and bought a dyson. You should do a video on the dyson v10. It would be great to see a proper honest review of it as there are not many on here.

      I hate my blade too, crap on hard floors and getting into nooks and crannies is pretty impossible despite the extra attachments. Wish I'd never bought it.

    ~ I have a Vax Blade 3 and am absolutely delighted with it. Compared to the Dyson V10, it's superb value for money. A very honest sales person told me that Dyson are taking the piss with their prices. Sadly, I have to agree .. The Vax is a great bang for the bucks, for me .. :-)

  • @paultrenchard

    There seem to be a lot of negative comments here but I'm delighted with mine which I have had about nine months. I also have a Dyson corded upright vacuum cleaner. I find that the blade is more efficient at picking up visible bits on the carpet than the Dyson and I have more confidence in its dust lifting capabilities. But the best bit is that it so light that I can move it easily all round the house and vacuuming my house takes half the time of using the upright. In addition, it gets into spaces that the upright won't go, so I have an all round cleaner house.
    Neither have I seen any evidence of poor filtration, never any sign of dirt on the outside of the final filter. I did buy an additional set of filters so that I can still use the vacuum while washed filters are drying. I agree that the dirt collection area is annoyingly small but it is really easy to empty it, compared to my Dyson upright. I always feel I need a bath after emptying that!
    Finally, if you're very house proud and money is no object a Dyson V8 or V10 maybe a little better but I have lots of other ways of spending the additional £100+ and I'm very satisfied with my Blade.

    It seems like it fairs pretty well, for the price range. I think if you want something like a Dyson you might as well get one. These cordless cleaners are great for whipping around but they are too bulky and heavy to use and personally I find them a bit inconvenient.
    Thanks for the review. 🙂

    I purchased one of these yesterday & was really looking forward to having a good clean up today! “ ( In My Dreams!) Totally & utterly useless wouldn’t pick up any bits only dust or dander.also it’s extremely heavy if you have a bad back like I do. I am about to try for the 4th time to put it back in the box which is proving very difficult with all the egg board packaging ! Why does nothing ever go back into the boxes as it should do .very frustrating.!!

    I'll stick with my Dyson V6 and V8 - they dont require constant filter cleaning, and they have proper multi-cyclonic seperation of the dirt - unlike the Vax which just has a sponge filter in the bin - very old and basic technology now, that needs constant cleaning and washing to maintain airflow. People just dont clean their filters that often, and then complain on Vax's facebook page that their Blade has lost suction and spits all the dirt back out of the powerhead again after use. The Blade is only OK for people with no pets, no long hair (which wraps round the brushroll), and who dont mind cleaning out that filter sponge every time the bin is emptied. They are not durable either, and the flexible hose in the powerhead is a weak point, that apparently splits quite easily, which is also a problem on some Shark uprights.
    The Dyson V8 might be more expensive, but its performance runs rings round that of a Vax Blade, and requires much less messy filter washing and "banging out". I'd recommend the Dyson V8 over the Blade any day of the week.

    • @madabouthoovers9767
      @madabouthoovers9767 6 років тому

      I paid £240 my V6 Absolute and £129 for my V6 Triggerpro, and £369 for my V8 Total Clean. They were all on price promotion, and indeed, i would never pay full list price for any Dyson cordless, so you can get Dysons for a better price once they have been out a while and you dont mind having an older style model.
      I am critical of Vax as I have had some seriously dire and poor quality Vax machines in the past - they are not in the same league as Dyson. Yes I know Dyson have complaints too - I only have to read their Facebook "Community" page - but Dyson technology for me, is much better and generally more reliable than Vax.
      Regardless of which brand you buy, you do have to look after and maintain your machine as the manufacturer tells you, but people often dont, and at least with a Dyson, their pre-motor filters dont clog up with the speed that the pre-motor filter clogs on a Vax Blade.
      You are perfectly entitled to express your opinions, and if you enjoy using a Vax Blade, then thats just great, but for many people, they have complained bitterly about their purchase and wished they had bought a Shark or a Dyson.

      @ibaisaic  6 років тому +1

      @@ibaisaic A real test rather than just talking about it. Thank you. I'm returning mine as I find the sponge filter messy and emptying the dust canister often resulted in dust all over the place. The suction is good, much better than my really old handheld but it does not match my Miele cylinder cleaner. I may try a Dyson next but for the price it will have to be exceptional.

    Dyson come out with a new vacuum very ~2 years and prices go up each time. Costing £6/700 a new one and soon £800/900/1000 for a vacuum that they would want you to replace after two years for a more expensive newer one with a fancy light 💡 or something .

  • @nick2203
    @nick2203 6 років тому +1

    Overall good performance. The filtration needs improvement but when you consider the cost of this machine compared to a cordless Dyson, that's a small price to pay.

    • @dremid4456
      @dremid4456 6 років тому +1

      A small price to pay? Low-end machines like this are literally picking up dust/mites/termite feces and blowing it all around into the air due to lack of solid filtration. This defeats the point of vacuuming, or at least some of the point.

    • @nick2203
      @nick2203 6 років тому

      My point here was if you don't have dust mite allergies and can live with the poor filtration of this machine, then it offers reasonable cleaning performance at a much lower purchase price when compared to a Dyson.
      Yes, its rival's may offer good filtration and exhaust cleaner air but they are also bagless machines and therefore when you empty the dust container you're exposing yourself to the dust and mites that the filters are designed to protect you from.
      Even the best cordless machines cannot offer the suction power and performance of a mains powered vacuum. Add to that the fact that a premium cordless vacuum costs as much as or in some cases more than a quality bagged mains powered vacuum and the argument in favour of a cordless vacuum is even harder to justify.
      Cordless vacuums may be light weight and convenient to use but as things stand at the moment I would opt for a quality bagged mains vacuum.

    • @dremid4456
      @dremid4456 6 років тому +2

      B...but...you're literally breathing in termite feces!
      Haha, no - in all seriousness - I get what you're saying. Different strokes for different folks. I'm for real diagnosed OCD, also have had severe asthma/allergies since being a kid. Sometimes I gotta remind myself that microscopic termite poop is not a relevant consideration (compared to price/$$$) for many folks, haha.
      Anyway thanks for the genuine reply - take care bro!

    • @dremid4456
      @dremid4456 6 років тому +1

      Also just wanted to mention that on your second point/paragraph, we totally agree. I've got Miele canister for my main vac; great suction and 100% air-tight body. Totally agree that the cordless concept is a losing battle. I like to vacuum a lot, at max setting, so none of the damn batteries in any cordless vac are adequate. And the cords on Mieles or Dyson uprights or whatever are so long; if you're in a medium-sized apartment like me, it literally makes no difference whether you need to plug it in or not.
      That said, the V10 seems to be as good as anything is gonna get w/ battery technology as it is in 2018. If I weren't an OCD freak, I could *probably* get away with Dyson V10 as my only vac in an apartment setting. Great filtration too; it's shown to be air-tight in tests. And, as far as emptying it, ionno - I hold my breath and go empty it out in the stairwell dumpster outside my actual living space.

    Is it just me or are bagless vacuums more hassle than they are worth? ... bagged vacuums are generally much easier to change. It's just a shame they can't come up with a very cheap system for replacement bags. I mean, a sheet of paper is a fraction of a penny. They SHOULD be able to come up with bags that are dead cheap.

    I don't see how dirt and dust collecting in washable filters can be considered a failing at all. And what is a delicate hard floor? You are nuts.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 роки тому

      It’s the amount of dust and the speed it collects on the filters that’s the problem with this and all bagless vacuum cleaners with inefficient cyclones. There are plenty of homes with delicate easily scratched flooring which is why many vacuum manufactures produce special hard floor nozzles with softer brushes. I may be nuts but I do know quite a bit about vacuum cleaners which is why I currently have over 114,000 subscribers who value my opinion on floorcare appliances.

      This is an edited video. Of course I take longer to vacuum and I don’t use a crappy bagless cordless vacuum when cleaning my home. German, bagged and mains powered is how I roll. I don’t have OCD either.

  • @dremid4456
    @dremid4456 6 років тому +2

    These feel like junk. It's easy to create powerful suction if you're not going to bother w/ filtration. When I tried one of these, I could literally feel particles of shit blowing out onto my face/arms. The whole point/challenge of vacuum design is to balance suction w/ the resistance created by having a powerful filter on the exhaust. Brands like this are ignoring half of the equation, because it's easier to suck consumers in w/ suction claims, it seems to me!
    And ya, I know, good pun right
