All AI does is mixing and matching existing art to conform to a prompt, it doesn't have any experience with the real world, it doesn't have emotions, it doesn't "think". I can also see a use in texture generation for surfaces like the sea or an asphalt car park, where because it's so large you usually see textures repeating. But in general most of what AI can do is just pointless fluff.

I really find it interesting what AI can do with gameplay, some of what I've seen is pretty solid while most of it is still rather bad but this is as bad as AI will ever be, it's only uphill from here. I am mostly against it because I dont want to loose my job, imagine if what this video is showing is possible in real time, with high quality and good memory. Honestly, the most I can see with A.I. at the moment is lighting, shadows and reflections. That seems to be consistiant throught all of these Gen-3 videos so far. Otherwise, kinda feels like we are also catching a glimpse of a future only run by A.I. - automonous cars, delivery vehicles, stores, voice, war machines (allegedly), security systems, etc. IDK man, kinda starting to seem too good to be safe... And yes, I am aware that statment was a leap from video graphics to terminators but A.I. isn't just being used for virtual worlds.

Bro! I was watching some of these videos a few days ago, and I wondered the same thing. What if this could be done in real time, while you're playing the game? But there are a few problems they have to solve first though. For starters, these AI videos lack coherence. Like when the person playing moves the camera too fast, everything becomes distorted, cars change shape, the scenario itself morphs into something different, the characters completely change clothes and appearance from one cutscene to the other. Like the AI completely lack special awareness, and can't keep track of things it has generated for too long. If they solve that, it will be sick to play some of these oldschool games with an AI filter on top making it "modern", or "photorealistic"

this would work better if it was implemented within materials inside the 3d world space, instead of a post process filter. this would elimiate spacial mistakes the ai does and would make the actual models themsleves look good- essensially using AI to light up a scene instead of traditional lighting methods
It's not a matter of whether it's possible or not, it's creatively bankrupt and it's the death of art direction, in-game textures, lighting, atmosphere are all made by real people with a real vision on how they want games to look, AI just recycles existing stuff and assembles it in ways it doesn't understand, it just does things without purpose, artists' work deserve more respect than that
