I lived in Cairo for four years in the 80's. I have never lost my love of Cairo and Egypt. The diving is spectacular and the desert is magnificent.

Tips: For the Its Hot part. Go there eather in the early spring or Late Fall. Late Fall because the day temps are about 70 F and low about give or take 60 - 50 F. Mid October its still in the 90s F. I would know these because I visited my wife's family in Egypt. Coiro has to be the most metal Place ever.... cars Here , cars there, cars Heres, Cars Here, Car THere, CARS HERE AND THERE!!! CAAREUSGSGHFY VEHRFE. (sorry)

Just came from Cairo. Such a beautiful country with beautiful people. Everyone is so polite and would go out of their way to make sure you feel good and welcome to their country. Oh, and the food is just heavenly with everything being fresh and tasty, I'll miss Koshary and Molokhia so much. This is my first, but definitely not the last time there.
Shukraan Misr, lots of love from Croatia ❤

My girlfriend and I went to Egypt in early November 2005 and the weather was still very nice and not too hot but perfect for the beach. Let’s start at the beginning. Our flight was three hours late leaving Gatwick and that time could not be made up and we eventually got to our Nile cruise ship in Luxor early in the morning to find that the catering staff had left some delicious sandwiches and drinks in our room. We did a six day Nile cruise to Aswan which was sooooo nice. The food and the service was second to none. We returned to Luxor and we did the trip to the valley of the Kings, Absolutely incredible. The next morning we set off across the Eastern Sahara desert to Hurghada, I was dreading the four hour trip but it was incredible. We stayed in the Hilton long beach hotel in Hurghada which was out of this world and so clean. Our apartment was incredible and we slept in the most comfortable bed that we have ever slept in. I spent my 55th birthday there. But the real highlight was a day trip trip to Giftun island also known as paradise Island. The coral reefs were out of this world and the huge buffet was incredible.

Today I am doing a lot of research for a story of a female archaeologist at a dig near Asyut.
I have been reading stories about it being a dangerous place and police escorts are moving tourists through the city to get ride of them. It seems outlandish, but I read it in more than one place and I know things have changed a little in the last couple of years. Is any of this true? Can I write a story and assume safety anywhere in Egypt, as long as you are not behaving like an idiot?

    if you have money.
if you can spend 1000 $ per month you will live as a king or a queen.
and every thing else can be resolved. no problems at all.
all trouble in Egypt Are because of poverty. the people here average salary is about 1 - 4 $ per day. what they can do??? they nervous and miserable.
I am very fine with 10$ per day and i can save half of that (Iam alone). if every body her got about 5$ a day I think Egyptian will never leave Egypt.

Thank you for the video. I'm coming to Egypt next month with a 4 and 5 year old and wanted to know if it's 🔥in February? Also do you advise to book activities through TripAdvisor before hand or is it cheaper to book while our there?

Very informative post! Thanks for all the information .
I'm planning on a trip with my Mother around 27th of Dec '17 for about a week and I'm wondering if it's a good time to visit. The weather says cold but not sure if it's a good time to visit. I love cold! Lol. Also since we might be there for the New year's Eve on the Nile cruise again a bit doubtful of how it's gonna be like. And I needed some help on affordable hot air balloon rides. My travel agent says I can opt for it when I'm there. Do u have any idea?

You said what ‘ve been always wanting to say and as a flight attendant who lived previously in egypt.. i get extremely irritated when people say its not safe, its not good its not clean.. etc .. its an experience and a beautiful one and u might actually be happy living there more than the cleanest places in the world. ♥️ #dubaiflightattendant

Great introduction to Egypt. I take it that you were were happy and comfortable being knowledgeable of the heat walking around the desert and pyramids in your white canvas Converse Chucks sneakers? You appeared to be wearing them in your brief photo of you standing on the sand in front of pyramids during the “Cairo is mental” section. Thanks.
