TFLS there might be service ones though. But as for the 1981 Hitachi’s from when the terminal was built, I’m pretty sure any remaining original ones would’ve been wiped out under the major T1 renovation works from 2008-2012. The one mailerdiablo filmed was already modernised in the 1990s to B95, not completely removed when majority of the internal structure of the arrival and departure hall was demolished and remodelled.
It's sad to see it gone given it had up and down arrows as floor buttons which is prob the only of its kind. At same time it's understandable tho given hydraulics are just inefficient and energy consuming
Glad I've filmed this while I was here for a short stopover between Bali and Hong Kong as this was considered one of my "childhood elevators" since I used to ride this quite often before flying back home from Singapore. At least it stayed longer enough despite almost all the other existing elevators have been modernized.
The buttons aren't the rarest part but the fact these are probably the earliest lifts to use B95 buttons, and also the oldest lifts left in Changi apart from the Toshibas
I think the reason why it managed to stay quite longer than the other passenger elevators is probably because this elevator wasn't used too much since it only goes up to the sky garden despite being a hydraulic.
Hitachi didn't use that type of fixtures until in the mid 1990s. This lift doesn't look like it was installed in 1981. According to Wikipedia, Terminal 1 underwent refurbishment in 1995 so I think this lift was most likely installed during the refurbishment.
I found one on the other end. I really like the fact that these haven't been modernized to be the new lifts which most likely be 5500s.
There is another one on the other end? I thought this is the only one in the terminal.
@@idl3k_elev There is, very nice to see it in original state.
I probably didn't go to the other end. I surely hope it won't be replaced. This is probably the only original (1995) Hitachi left in Terminal 1.
@@idl3k_elev I think so as well.

Why does the indicator have no number lol

There is still one in fortune center all of them a still alive
Sadly the service lift has been refurbished with new metallic interior and new buttons.
The button like guangri elevator
Guangri is a subsidary of Hitachi and used the same buttons
Guangri initially made elevators under Hitachi's license, which is why a lot of their elevators use Hitachi's B95 buttons.
@@idl3k_elev yeah, like the one in SMESCO jakarta
What about Yungtay? Yungtay is licensed by Hitachi.
Yes it was, and now Yungtay is wholly owned by Hitachi as a subsidiary.
Is that hand sanitizer inside the elevator?
Yes
I found loads of them in the air side area.
Year installed?1995?
Its actually 1981!
