I have been away from the hobby of models, miniatures & painting for close to 30 years. I didn't realize how much I missed in that time away. Lately, I've been looking for videos and such on all aspects of getting back into it. My wife is even excited about trying her hand at some of this! I really enjoy your very thorough treatment of paints and equipment. You are one of the few folks I have found that gives a very In-Depth test and evaluation and I cannot thank you enough for doing it. Your videos allow me to make a more informed choice when it comes to paints. I have to also say that some of the paints being used are 'old friends' and a few of them are 'old unavailables' to me from back in the early 70's when I first really got deep into models, dioramas and painting. So having your videos available to see who's got what and how well do they work has been very informative. (the old 'unavailables' were the 'good' paints I simply couldn't afford as a kid back in the 70's) Thanks again for the effort you put out. Looking forward to the new paint booth. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more videos on brush applied paints as well, even though I really like the airbrush, I'm primarily a 'paint by brush' guy when it comes to my painting as I tend to do very small items in great detail.

Well done as always, as someone who is snowed under with a necron and ork army to paint, having a huge collection of Vallejo airbrush paint would be 10000000 times better than thinning a hodge podge of citadel and army painter paints
The Vallejo Game Air range has been on my wish list for several years. It's the perfect fit for someone who primarily paints fantasy miniatures (and terrain), like I do. Especially those of us who have grown up with the more vibrant paint schemes from the late 80's and through the 90's. They do make the minis pop more on any table, whether for wargaming, board games or roleplaying games. Thanks for showcasing/testing so many brands, tools and paint ranges. You also have me convinced to get the Badger 105 Patriot for my next airbrush, once I have the funds. 😁
Hey rex, I just dicovered your channel half a year ago and you broke my fear of getting an airbrush.I bougyt a cheap one recently, it works fine for the price but i havent been able to decide what paint to buy so what paint brand do you recommend for an absolute beginner? Preferably acrylics cause i dont have a respirator.

Your stash to me is like heaven. So watching your videos is almost like a therapy for me so that I don't have to go purchase all that stuff myself lol. You save me the pain and money so that I only buy the good stuff and stuff that I actually need. Thank you for your contributions to the modelling community.
In the last 6 months I've gotten into 3d printing and painting tabletop. Your videos have really taught me so much. Keep up the great work and thank you
Thanks for sharing your passion. In the last couple of years I've started back into model building after more than a 40 year layover. Keep up the great work and God Bless. Would love to watch you do a hot rod build from start to finish as I'm sure others would as well
That is one beautiful case for sure and didn’t know they had some paints airbrush ready. Thank you for going over all the different colors and adding more to the case. Just amazing!!!
Thanks for doing all these paint tests. They're very informative for the weekend hobbyists who have limited resources (and no sponsors like the high-end UA-camrs) to make informed choices in buying paint. 👍🏻 I started getting into the Model Air and Game Air lines because they work well with the airbrush and are easy to clean up.
I love your channel you show me so many things and as you dont say this is the best you always say this is the best for me ... you guys may find that the other thing works best for you but for mw ...... That is so fresh and shows you are not forcing anything or over selling anything, it allows people to make there own minds up and shows how professional you are, Thank you for what you do and how you do it. i try to watch them all. Thank you so much you have been a great help to me.......
Long time watcher, first time posting. Vallejo Air and Model colors are great! Cannot say enough good about them. While we do use other brands, Vallejo just rocks across a wide range of applications. We (my son and I) shoot both Model & Air; some paints are extended/diluted depending on airbrush/color[pigmentation density]/needle size. Started with Model Color back when selections in Air was extremely limited & few and far between. Hmm, actually I think Air was a pipe dream when we started using Vallejo 🤔 In our shop, .5 is pretty big. We run .15s, .2s & 4s in the H&Ss, .35 (std) in the HP-CSs (these are our workhorses), .3s in the CHs and a .4 in the M2. The M2 is great for priming & basecoating. It gets used a lot since while we model in 28m, 1/35, 1/350 & 1/6th - we do mostly 1/22.5; think models measured in feet not inches, say like 8.5 ft long. YMMV on the following. We used to mix In the brush cup and and back blow for mixing and cleaning (H&S even sells a cap for this). We stopped that practice and now mix either in a bottle or mixing pans (the small Japanese ones). The reason being I was seeing a lot of leakage back through seals, primarily on the Iwatas, even new airbrushes, after back blowing had been done a few dozen times. Haven’t seen it on the H&Ss, but boy it can be a pain to clean everything thoroughly, and that usually falls to me. So we just don’t do it anymore with any of the airbrushes. It should be noted we tend to use higher pressures than most folks when airbrushing (we can do this cause we run a very dry & cooled air supply, but that’s a whole other story) but not so high it should be causing what we saw. Again your mileage may vary on this. Vallejo cleaner works really well. Usually stick to Iwata cleaner, I can get it by the gallon for a better price. Haven’t tried AK, might have to try it. Paint shakers are a real plus. We use a different brand, but works on the same principle. I bought a couple hundred 316 SS ball bearings and we toss 3 or so in each bottle. Wash’em and reuse them. Been using em for about 10-12 years so far with no rusting/pitting. Haven’t tried the beads you mentioned…Hobby Lobby tomorrow 😉. One tip…when taking the end off of the Vallejo bottle (or other mfg) don’t do it close to a model you’ve got half painted…yeah, don’t ask how I know….good thing there’s something called Simple Green… As always, YMMV from what we see/do in our shop. Just sharing, nothing more, nothing less. Working our way through life, one model at a time: ok, reality check, so theres probably about a dozen or two started models in shop, but who’s counting? Wife…look away…now
I love Vallejo Model Air paints. I've never had an issue spraying them. The trick is, and I got this from Vallejo's YT channel, is to put in drop of Flow Improver in the bottom of your cup , then add your color. Works great to reduce tip drying for long painting sessions. I've thinned the Model Color and have had success with them, but I haven't bought any of their Game Air, yet. Also, hot water is da bomb to clean between and full clean your airbrush (learned that from you in previous vids). I have a squeeze bottle full of hot water I keep on an insulted cup of scalding hot water to rinse the acrylics out, then follow up with your blend of AB cleaner. Thank you for showing these tips and tricks and I look forward to more of your vids. Keep up the great work!
Haven't gotten into airbrushing just yet, but I watch your videos to try and get a handle on it when I do eventually get an airbrush of my own. Thanks for all the work you do!
I have been using an air brush for a few many years. I was a Makup artist for the film and television. of course that style is about no real air brush technique other the color balance and symmetry. I have watched your take on air brushing and have actualy gotten into gunpla models since I came accross your page. I dont work for the industry and more and I was looking for a creative outlet. Ive worked with all kind of medium when working with effects and prosthetics from stains and inks through guache, acrylics and alchol based make ups. the most difficult medium to work with was Silicone based for sylicone appliances. I love your paint collection and I must say a little envious of it. I have learned alot watching your videos and I have been getting back into airbrushing again and tryin to develope some better technique. thanks again for all the advise and keep up the amazing work.
I recently began building models again decades later in life. All I had available to me back then were bottle paints with fat, clumsy brushes and rattle cans that spit more than sprayed, so I really appreciate the tips, tricks and advice on your channel as I get into air-brushing my kits. Thanks!
Thank you so much for all of your knowledge and expertise! I originally found you because of a review you did on a harbor freight airbrush set and have been avidly watching everything you've put out. Your techniques, how to do your own thinner and cleaner, how to clean everything so it doesn't mess up your next project, it's all been so helpful, so thank you!! :)
Like so many people have said, I have learned so much from your channel and gained a lot of confidence in my model building abilities. Thank you so much for all the hard work and time you have put into your channel. Also, it's really cool of you to give stuff away!
Found your channel after getting back into the mini hobby. Enjoy the vids and the info! Nice to see reviews on all kind of of paint shot through an air brush.
I got into gunpla during the pandemic, and I fell into the hobby fast! I soon got into handpainting my models with Vallejo model colour, but now I’m wanting to get into airbrushing gunpla, and am worried about having to buy a whole bunch of extra paint. This game air set would be awesome! thanks for everything you do barbatos rex ❤️
Thanks so much for your videos. I'm just recently getting back into models after around 40 years. Your videos showing how to use craft acrylic paints in an airbrush has been so helpful. I enjoy all the information you supply to us. Please keep up the great info!
I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now and love how you explain everything as detailed as possible. You are the main reason why I bought my first airbrush kit and getting out of my shell as far as painting my gunpla. Keep up the videos
I've recently started practicing with my airbrush and I have got to say that your videos were a huge help in convincing myself that this was something I could learn, your testing of paints and painting products has really cut down on the amount of trial and error I'd have to do for myself. Thank you so much!
Another great review video. Your the reason I got into airbrushing, I started watching your videos about 4 months ago and a month in with your videos I was airbrushing my own kits and me not knowing anything about airbrushing your videos on paints and hardware itself has helped me so much now I can't wait to get your line of paints.
I always find your videos to be informative and entertaining, as I have watched many of them over the last few months. You have given me the knowledge and confidence to get into airbrushing, and to get back into model building after 20 years. Thank you for every thing.
Absolutely love the direction you took, with your channel. So much generosity, to save all your supporters, time and money, testing and showcasing everything the way you do. So much to learn from you! 🙏
Love watching your videos to unwind and learn more about a hobby I haven't had time for the past few years. I am hoping to split the use of our spare room very soon, so I may get my long desired spray booth area and painting desk. Good luck to all your viewers and supporters and it is a fantastic gesture.
I know they're lengthy and that's gotta be a hit to your views, but I love how in depth and detailed your videos are. There's lots of other channels that just cut through all the content and I'm trying to piece data from scraps of footage. I've learned so much from browsing your channel and seeing all your paint swatches. Good luck!
I got into this hobby two years back during the pandemic and your channel has completely cleared my doubts about airbrushing which led me to purchase my first one that's coming in a week. Thank you for easing me into this daunting aspect of gunpla customisation with your incredibly informational videos!
Happened to pick Vallejo as my choice of paints when I got into the gunpla hobby. Never looked back. Terrific channel! Your passion for what you do comes thru and enjoy the content. Keep up the great work!
Rex! Thank you for what you do!! New to Scale modeling and your channel has helped me greatly. I can only dream of having a full set of my own one day. When I was a kid, I had to do all of my kits in bare white because I never could afford paint 😩. I proudly serve in the US Army now and I am determined to have a full set! I'd love to try vallejo next! Keep blessing us with great content!!! 🙏🏽
Your videos are so helpful whenever I'm shopping for model making supplies! I love that you do unbiased comparisons of similar products at different price points and offer links to purchase them. Thank you!
Another great demo of paints, following your channel has really helped build my knowledge base of how to use paints through an airbrush. You always brake down the little do's and don't well which helps when learning a new tool, i used to paint mini's when growing up, an now just getting into airbrushing gunpla having a resource like your channel to navigate the wide variety of paints out there has help loads. Cheers
Thanks for all the great videos and content! I’ve been a builder now for a short time but I’m hooked now. This year I’ve decided to pull the trigger and buy an airbrush setup and supplies. Really appreciate all these videos! I bought a Pace Super mini about 2 years ago and never looked back. I love that spray booth and its made in the USA. Got my mom their 36 inch model as she likes to do resin cups and that thing is a beast!
Thanks for another great video! I bought the 10 drawer rack in black last summer to reorganize my workbench area. I was able to store almost all of my modelbuilding tools and supplies in it. It's great to have more space on my bench and everything now at my fingertips while building.

Keep up the great work and God Bless. Would love to watch you do a hot rod build from start to finish as I'm sure others would as well
I could watch you paint spoons all day. Thank you for your content!
I love how you always do a easily understood test of the colors of the paints you demo.
I started getting into the Model Air and Game Air lines because they work well with the airbrush and are easy to clean up.
One tip…when taking the end off of the Vallejo bottle (or other mfg) don’t do it close to a model you’ve got half painted…yeah, don’t ask how I know….good thing there’s something called Simple Green…
As always, YMMV from what we see/do in our shop.
I have been very hesitant to start airbrushing but after watching your videos i have been giving it a go. Thanks for giving me the confidence to try.
That's great. Once you get it there's no going back
Another great review video.
Great Video! Just started airbrushing at 53 and I'm loving it. Keep up the good work.
It’s been great using the videos you release to help finally tackle painting my gunpla for the first time!
Thank you for your service. 👍
That's a huge selection of paints in that kit! And they look like they do an awesome job! The winner of that kit will be a lucky individual.
Your videos are so helpful whenever I'm shopping for model making supplies! I love that you do unbiased comparisons of similar products at different price points and offer links to purchase them. Thank you!
Another great video, you have been my go to channel since getting back into modeling after 30 years, thanks for what you do !
love how you always test the popular paints with and without primer and the durability test always good
Can never have enough organizational ideas!! Thanks for that.
For sure
Another great demo of paints, following your channel has really helped build my knowledge base of how to use paints through an airbrush. You always brake down the little do's and don't well which helps when learning a new tool, i used to paint mini's when growing up, an now just getting into airbrushing gunpla having a resource like your channel to navigate the wide variety of paints out there has help loads. Cheers
Thank you for all the tips and tricks. I came across your channel about a year ago and you have helped me take my painting skills to the next level.
Vallejo paints are my favorite, learned the easy cleanup with hot water from your channel. A very generous giveaway!
Thanks for all the great videos and content! I’ve been a builder now for a short time but I’m hooked now. This year I’ve decided to pull the trigger and buy an airbrush setup and supplies. I’ve been watching your videos religiously while I snap build to get an idea of what I need. Can’t wait to get started. Thanks again and look forward to future videos ☺️
I just started painting last year, and while I admit that I still have a lot to learn, your videos helped me learn a lot of things.
I just found your channel and can’t stop watching! You’re great at explaining, teaching and sharing tips…just what I need. I'm an absolute beginner at airbrushing and looking to up his game at model and miniature painting. Thanks!
Mr. Barbatos Rex, It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, and I am amazed at the amount of information you have to offer. Thank you for shedding some light on the Game Air Paint I wasn't too sure about them and how to use them, but now I know. Kudos to you my friend.
Great video as usual from perhaps the most comprehensive channel there is on the topic. I started airbrushing last year and I devoured a lot of your videos at the time: helped me invest my limited resources wisely!
Really enjoy your videos, it's actually because of you that I've graduated from spray can to airbrushing. I find you have way more control over spraying your projects, thank you for that👍and keep up the awesome videos
I am new to painting minis and really enjoy the info you share on your channel. Very helpful. This kit would be amazing for helping me get started with this amazing craft. Thank you for all you do.
You have really helped me equip my modeling area with your tests and equipment reviews. Your videos are so informative. Love using Vallejo air paint’s especially.
Those colors look so good for Gunpla! They’re bright and vibrant and could yield some amazing color schemes. Not to mention that amazing matte finish!
I'm new to airbrushing, I think water based paint is the way for me to go. I'm getting back into model cars, ( after an absents of 50 or so years ) learning new stuff made easy with video's like yours.
Thanks
Really appreciate all these videos! I bought a Pace Super mini about 2 years ago and never looked back. I love that spray booth and its made in the USA. Got my mom their 36 inch model as she likes to do resin cups and that thing is a beast!
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity. I’ve learned so much from your reviews over the last year or two.
Thanks for another great video! I bought the 10 drawer rack in black last summer to reorganize my workbench area. I was able to store almost all of my modelbuilding tools and supplies in it. It's great to have more space on my bench and everything now at my fingertips while building.
Good luck to everyone! This is a fine set that will last quite a while. Vallejo makes some fantastic paint lines, and their Metal Color are perfect for acrylic metallics.
Just getting started in model airbrushing and feel like I have a big head start from watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
