'Legend' is a word that is thrown around all too often in this day and age, but the term surmises the reign of the Mapogo lions in the Sabi Sands to perfection. This notorious band of brothers has ruled the area with an iron paw.
The Mapogos left a big mark in the Sabi Sands. The game drive rangers like Cedric talk about the coalition a lot and even tells stories on them. Its a good thing they left offspring and their blood still lives on in many lions today. The Othawa Pride, Mhangeni, Kambula, Styx pride, all have Napogo daughters and their offspring carrying their legacy.
There was only one male offspring and unfortunately he got killed their daughters survived the rangers would not let a powerful coalition exist again they killed a huge amount of lions mr t even killed his older brothers cubs. Also there is a lot of suspicion how 4 of them died.when you wipe out most of the rivels it could lead to inbreeding

You’re right especially the part that shows the lions with partly eaten cubs in their mouths. Very sad. I know it nature but even WATOP was surprised that the male lion ate cubs, it wasn’t very necessary so it was just heart breaking to see.
@@CarmenColleenCCC From what I seen that particular lion was "known" to be especially savage. Even once the coalition was the dominant males, and had successfully taken the females as their own, the males mated with the females, and that lion would kill his brother's cubs. He did this while they were all living together within the same pride!! I don't think that lion ever knew fear in his entire life, all the way up to his death by being outnumbered and isolated, in a battle with 2 younger lions who were too much for him to fight alone. He still never showed any fear. He was a special breed all by himself.
@@skittles3310 did u see the documentary I seen also? I watched it on Animal Kingdom it was called 6 lions killed 40% of all lions in Africa. Yeah eating his brothers cubs was just crazy to me. I was surprised the brothers didn’t exile his ass for doing that or the lioness’ didn’t kill him. Yeah no fear at all and at the end he finally lost. Was glad at the end to hear he died finally. Felt bad for Kinky Tail getting eaten alive though :(
@@CarmenColleenCCC I think that the same one I watched too, and may I just say, I am freakin traumatized. 🥺😭🤣 Like I'm not naive, I know what lions do, and I understand it. But damn!!! To kill over 100 lions in a year? They were a freakin act of nature! It's as though lions become too soft for their taste and they devised a cult and went on a rampage. I don't know how any single male lions hold onto pride, and really good territory, at all. I would imagine that they would all just begin larger and larger coalitions.
Good story telling. Very fun to listen to and watch. You raised my curiosity, because the moment I wanted to exist the video...my curiosity kept me watching and listening...well done👏
Y'all incels really think we are the same as lions......... if you just get to know an actual woman, you would know it's much more than the animal kingdom.... they are, guess what, human like you.. Don't fall into the negative sense of animal kingdom = humans when it comes to relationships. Touch some grass first before you think it's the same, jfc.

Nice video... thanks for highlighting the unique behaviour of the lions in Isiolo, Kenya... I've travelled to most of the Game Reserves and Parks in Kenya but have never been to see those ones and the tree climbing ones in Uganda... bucket list!!
I have watched this channel so many time, but today was the first time i realized that the coffee in the intro is actually spilled when he takes it out of the machine
Even the human mouth heals very quickly. My friend got into a fight with a quite small Hispanic kid a long time ago. My friend being an average sized well built white dude. Naturally we thought this was going to play out much differently than it did. My friend got his ass thoroughly kicked! Anyways, the corner of his mouth got relocated about a half inch longer than the other side! Amazingly it healed in just a couple of days without any sign that it had happened! 30 years later I don’t think his pride fared quite as well as his mouth lol!

Life of a male lion is really tough.
Onenof the most researched & informative short video. Many thanks from Kenya 🇰🇪
Good story telling. Very fun to listen to and watch. You raised my curiosity, because the moment I wanted to exist the video...my curiosity kept me watching and listening...well done👏
This is one of the best information I've heard from all your videos 👍 very good content, class in session 🤔
Male lions and male humans are not so different. Our battle is never ending until we draw our last breath
FOH
i mean theirs is a whole lot more violent tho
Lol
Y'all incels really think we are the same as lions......... if you just get to know an actual woman, you would know it's much more than the animal kingdom.... they are, guess what, human like you.. Don't fall into the negative sense of animal kingdom = humans when it comes to relationships. Touch some grass first before you think it's the same, jfc.
Seriously are only %20 of humans alive past youth? You gta fight at any moment to eat?
This was the best one you’ve done and I love all that you do.
I thought I heard you voicing some lion videos on other channels.
Exactly.
He’s a truly an artificially intelligent voice program, he s also made In China

Lion: Hold My Beer ‼️
☝️😂
Some of the best production on the internet.
Man eater lion took "i'm addicted to you" to next level😆
I remember watching the documentary on these lions and thinking how lions live a hard cruel existence.
1minute in and I can tell this will be one of favourite videos from this channel
the nostalgia from the Heroes of Might and Magic notification was wild!
The narrators voice makes it feel like I'm watching a video being narrated by Manny from ice age 😆
This just shows how great Makhulu was
Even the human mouth heals very quickly.
What does race or skin tone have to do with it?
@@ands2873 Nothing. He’s just being descriptive and painting a picture
This is far more relevant to life than most of you realize.
Almost 26 minutes! Great video, I loved it 😍
RIP to Kinky tail❤
It warmed my heart to see the two lone male lions rub each other, that’s what it’s all about
Kinky Tale and Mr. T... my favorite A-Team episode.
