  • Nayanam is a thematic Bharatnatyam Margam.
"Nayanam," which means "eyes" in Sanskrit, is a thematic exploration of the myriad emotions and expressions ranging from joy and love to sorrow and longing, conveyed through the eyes. The significance of the eyes as the windows to the soul, portraying their ability to define beauty, communicate emotions, and enhance the storytelling aspect of dance and communicate the unspoken are some of the aspects of this performance. In Bharatnatyam, the eyes play a pivotal role, serving as a powerful medium of expression that transcends language, race, and culture. The performance also touches upon the concept of "Antarchakshu," (the eye within) highlighting how individuals without physical sight perceive the world through their inner vision.
It is conceptualized and performed by Apeksha Niranjan.
