Today we are guests at the Scrocchi farm in Rottofreno (Piacenza), where the harvesting of industrial tomatoes is being carried out with two brand new self-propelled Guaresi Super G 150-48 ", top-of-the-range machines equipped with a 1.5-metre wide internal pick-up and powered by a 238 HP FPT NEF engine, while the trailers are towed by three John Deere tractors: 8370R, 8R 340 and 7R 310.

It's hard to imagine that amount of tomatoes that you harvest so quickly. Growing up around a farm in the 1950's and 60's we milked cows and grew corn, wheat, oats, hay and a lot of tomatoes. Some of the larger farms had migrant labor hand pick the tomatoes but some of the smaller farmers hired locals to pick for .13 cents per bushel basket. I remember picking in a particularly good field one day and finally broke the 100 bushel basket mark at around 14 years of age. We hoed the weeds in the just planted tomato until the plants were big enough to use the Farmall C to cultivate them. I'm 73 years old now but still use my hoe to weed my flower beds when the ground gets too hard from lack of rain. Enjoyed this video and even though it's not such hard manual labor as years ago, it's still long, hard and dirty work harvesting crops even today.

At first I was like "Meh what she's probably faking all the work like most influencers" but then i watched it and I was genuinely impressed by the work. She is one amazing woman.

@@janmiedza6607 There are several other videos available of her working on the farm, she never does anything in in low gear or even at normal speed, for the rest of us, everything is fast running and jumping. If her Instagram is to be believed, she works every day on the family farm in the growing season and serves as a promoter of different agriculture products and equipment, as well as agriculture in general during the winter. She obviously loves what she does and loves her family, her Instagram has a whole section devoted to her Papa who I would be willing to bet gave her his work ethic and taught her everything she knows about farming. For a young woman who could probably be out using the jaw dropping good looks that God gave her to make a living, she is working in the hot sun everyday around the people she loves and appears at least to love what she is doing. Pretty amazing girl in my estimation as well.
How that guy in the harvester manages to keep his eyes on the job and drive in a straight line is beyond me. 😍 wow .

Certamente abbiamo ottimi prodotti, ma questo sistema di coltivazione, altamente industriale, segue le stesse regole in tutto il mondo.
E' industria non agricoltura, con investimenti enormi, al posto degli imbullonati ci sono macchine operatrici.
In alcune realtà lo sfruttamento c'è eccome non dire minchiate per favore.
Si infatti il 95% poi c’è questo 5% che ti fa vedere anche sta bella fanciulla mezza nuda per attirare i click. E io ci sono cascato come un pirla😂

Huge operation , well set up. Beautiful weather conditions and a very beautiful and glamorous tractor operator proving very competent and capable.
For such a water intensive crop it sure seemed dry there. Very interesting work, and the scale of operation is impressive. Great drone work too. And everyone hustled.
We raise tomatoes in NW Ohio and get very little rain in the summer and our tomatoes do fine .
@@toledojeeper2932 I used to live in Toledo, lived a while In Bowling Green, I am from near Findlay. lots of tomato's everywhere,
dry is good as the tomato's ripen, too much water they split open, and the flavor is not as good.

I would think these are not the tomato that make it to store shelves for fresh tomato but to manufactures for cans of sauce , spaghetti sauce, paste, sauces and all kinds of processed tomato products.

My nephew was a test engineer at a big tractor manufacturer so I know a few stories. The " instructor seat" was installed for farmers to bring along their dog. Of course nowadays the farmer husbands are at a local breakfast shop getting latest commodities reports and their wives are in the tractor with all the comforts- wifi , sirius radio and a nice mirror visor for makeup. Of course GPS navigation is pretty much handling all the driving and implement management now so change is coming. The Canadian Amish swap rubber tires for steel the make themselves.

We are happy to eat local tomatoes in Russia from my garden not western not Italian not Greek for god sake.
