SOTH was told that it - as I understand - would be DOA in the Senate if that Act was left in the budget bill. The House listened to the Senate and voted against the budget while that Act was attached to the budget.

Controlling voter ID in regards to citizenship is not a new law, it is a verification that the law against non citizen vote is actually put in practice and that no delinquents are trying to cheat.
