daisy's "thanks so much, i hope you have a lovely day!" at the end was so sweet omg she's so cute and her analysis of marianne's family history was so interesting and intelligent
The dialogue free parts played by Daisy in particular were her best moments. I have not seen any actress being able to express such emotion in this way, particularly when in despair
This is such a brilliant interview - really well thought out questions as well. So glad you didn’t just ask them about how difficult it was to film intimate scenes like everyone else seems to be doing!
The interviewer was so great, such interesting questions and his manner was lovely. Paul and Daisy are so sweet and their answers are always so detailed, love them
What most impressed me was that, although very well known now, neither Paul nor Daisy came across as ';celebrities'. Both behaved in a natural, easy fashion and came across as, in fact, normal people. Long may that continue for them both.
What GREAT QUESTIONS! So refreshing to hear such informed and unique questions being asked instead of the usual 10 questions all interviewers ask over and over again. Really gave great insight on the actors perspectives.
I've watched a bunch of their interviews lately, and this one had by far the best, most interesting questions! Thank you for asking questions beyond the chemistry. I wish it were longer because I would have liked to hear more of these types of questions. Thank you!
lorelai01 I totally agree! The questions were so great. It does get boring when you hear the actors getting asked the same questions all the time. They must get sick of it too.
I 100% concur with all the other comments praising this interview. The questions were great, very refreshing and interesting, allowing the actors to discuss their characters in-depth and helping us understand things that perhaps we couldn't fully grasp during the series. The interviewer was so lovely, really cheerful and kind. And kudos to him for giving the actors space and time to properly respond to his questions. Thank you!
I entirely agree with the comments about Daisy & Paul - how superb are they! Their performance will be hard follow! At this time, they do not show any typical actors’ show performance - they just get on with the job! Two very intelligent ‘People’ we love you both for your timely performance. I just hope & pray you are NOT taken over by the media
Well, there’s a short story called “At the Clinic” that was released online by the author set a few years later, aged 23. So yeah, I think if they do a follow up, it should be of that short story and just something small, not a whole season.
Great interview. "Me and Daisy were quite good at having as much crack as we possibly could have" has a whole different meaning in American-English than in Irish-English LOL. On another point, in the book Marianne actually says her father did sometimes hit her, and her brother's abuse was much more explicit, as Daisy said.
6:21 omgggggg never thought of it this way?!? Changes my perspective on Allan significantly, I seriously never considered this at all am I the only one?
I kinda dabbled with the idea that Marianne was sexually abused by her father because she had such a physical reaction towards being groped in the club (as anyone would) but then also going towards quite violent sexual relationships where guys would kind of talk down to her and her willingness to do “whatever Connell wanted” to her
You’re born as a gift from God and there you’re born to be an actor ❤️❤️you guys are gifted, I admire you two a looooot! I’m waiting for some amazing awards very soon. ...
Not as of right now. There’s a short story that was released by the author online called “at the clinic” set a few years after with Connell and Marianne aged 23. If they do anything else with the show, I think they would do a special episode of this short story

If season two is about the two characters 10 years after, could they wait until both Paul and Daisy are 10 years older and then put them in the same roles.

So I’ve been noticing the front of her hair has a patch that is a different colour than the rest of his hair... I’m definitely obsessing over this hunk!
So good to make a drama out of two young people that are inhibited by their AS scale positioning. I would have happily seen this spread over two series, taken much slower.
I want to see a series where daisy plays Anne Hathaway’s sister or daughter, helll maybe in a flash back where she’s the younger version of Anne Hathaway or something The comparison is striking they look related. When Marianne was called “ugly” in the beginning by her peers I’m like, “Pfft GTFOH y’all should get glasses or contact lenses she’s obviously stunning and Connell was the only one before college who saw that beauty both inside and out. And I truly hope both Paul and daisy gets more roles they were phenomenal. I plan on reading the book soon. But as a selfish viewer/consumer I want a second series 🤩

I know the Brits are sometimes immune (Fleabag, etc) but I've gotta believe capitalist forces will ensure more seasons. Sally can write it. Handmaids continued pretty successfully.

Yes exactly! Such interesting questions that aren't just about their chemistry. I wish it could have been longer!

I have watched a lot of Normal People interviews recently (I'm obsessed), and this one is definitely the best.
Love how that wall has become Daisy's default interview background. It has good lighting and it makes her glow lol.
please please leave it be. this is a PERFECT series. and it deserves to be left as a masterpiece.
I really loved this show. They have great chemistry.
would be really cool if they did a follow up special episode set maybe 5 years into the future, rather than a full second season
Yeah like an 1hr one or something! Because I don't necessarily feel the need for another season hahah I don't want to suffer again

There was more tension in this series than twilight and the notebook put together.
like Jack and Rose on Titanic we wish they be together for ever .
Finally, some smart and fresh questions!
these two own my entire heart
i love daisy so much 😍
Brilliant interview Jim!
Jim Halterman - brilliant interviewer.
ughhh the chemistry is unreal

Such a great interview!
Great that this show is filmed where I'm from....
this was so lovely
I was relieved to learn that “Craic” means fun.
Great interview
I don't know why but I just need them to be together. 🤔
Great actors

Yeah, he should have asked her to the debs.. And how much a second season would ease the soul, the story is what it is and says so much already!

As, also, a selfish viewer, I would like to see another season too. What happened after Connell went to New York...

For our American viewers 'Me and Daisy had as much crack as we could possibly have' probably isn't what you think.
For more info search: Craic
😂😂😂😂
Craic haha, most of us are aware 😂

Where is that chain??? :-)

Gosh they must be getting tired.. So many interviews. Haven't stopped watching it yet lol

Paul you need to let non Irish people know when you speak about craic you mean fun!!! 🤣
I know the Brits are sometimes immune (Fleabag, etc) but I've gotta believe capitalist forces will ensure more seasons. Sally can write it. Handmaids continued pretty successfully.
😍❤️
Daisy should have one a bafta as well.
Spotted: Connell's chain
i think Paul is pissed off talking about it now...
