For the girls or their parents watching this video, may I also recommend the auditions advice video from a dancer Sergio has interviewed on this channel: Hannah Martin is an Artist with Birmingham Royal Ballet. She has a 9-minute-long video named "How to thrive in dance auditions". (Her channel's name is "Hannah Martin RG.") (Sorry that I cannot paste the link into the comments.) She talks about what to wear, which is very important for women. I suppose it is because women have a lot more choices of leotard design and colors, hairstyles, and make up. Hannah also mentions how to conduct oneself at the audition and in the building when one is not dancing. Regarding being hired by a ballet company, I just listened to a podcast available on UA-cam from the channel "Ballet with Isabella." Isabella was the first British girl to attend and graduate from Vaganova Academy. She danced professionally for a number of years and now teaches online and in-person courses. She interviewed Joy Womack, an American who trained at the Bolshoi. Joy has spent most of her career in Russia, and has also danced in Korea, US and now, France. Joy is also working on a project to train ballet teachers and choreographers in Nigeria with the eventual goal of creating the Nigerian National Ballet. (Timestamp: 54:50.) Keep listening because a minute later, Isabella starts to talk about students who graduate and can't get hired by a company soon after - that sometimes they give up when there are actually a lot of other opportunities available. Some people love being in one company their whole career and other people enjoy having many different opportunities. I have not heard other ballet dancers talk about anything like this, so I just thought I would mention it here. The idea of anybody training so hard for so long and then not being hired and giving up is so unfortunate and may not be necessary. Thank you very much for the video! I am not a dancer but I watched this with much attention because it can apply to a lot of auditions and not necessarily ballet. Any job audition can learn from this. Congratulations Mr Romero. You brought something from which everybody can learn. 👋👋👋👋👏👏👏👏
@@gira44eele85 if you are a student applying for a company job and you have no experience then you can add some of the competitions you went to…specially if they are international competitions and famous competitions like Prix de Lausanne or YAGP

should you put competitions in your cv even though you didn't win anything?
