A couple laps with Kirk! ep74 UBoot Rennenwerks Porsche 931 at Sonoma, Jun 13, 2024

Britain, Gary and Tom had me down to Sonoma Raceway to drive their spectacular Porsche 931 in Lucky Dog Racing League. There's not much of a stock Porsche (924) left in the car. The shell is mostly carbon fiber, the engine is an Audi 5 cyl Turbo and it has a Corvette transmission and transaxle with custom fabricated suspension front and rear. Its an absolute blast to drive.
I started on pole for Saturday's race and held that lead until I started to overheat due to 80+ degree ambient temps and my cool suit not working. I dropped into second place and held it until I started making mistakes because I was having trouble seeing. I brought the car in off-cycle and the rest of the team picked me up. They brought the car home P1 at the end of Saturday.
Unfortunately, Sunday didn't go as planned but Saturday sure was fun. Enjoy!
