Most of these things are completely psychological, but when that part of your brain is essentially dead, that makes things a bit more difficult. To paraphrase his mentality, "I'm old, that's stupidly hard, I've already been married, I'm fine the way I am."
Ok, let's talk about dr Bandler than. What do you think of him? Doesn't he look to you as a con? Because he officially claimed that he used strategies of Erickson, Skinner, Satir etc. Modelling let's call it properly. So in my opinion he haven't invented anything new, he had just put it all together for his own work. See my point?
NLP is fun and creative only if you have one of these God's gifts in this fucked up mental world - time or money. If NOT, you are just wasting your time trying to understand that stuff, been there done that, believe me, you won't even learn 1% of it if you are only INTERESTED in it. I used to love it when I was in high school where I haven't got shit to do or worry.

I would at least like to think you could understand why, as a person without this skillset, I would wonder how a guy with the skillset would be is in such a situation. Although, now that I take a moment to think about it more deeply one might well have asked such a question about Erickson if one didn't have knowledge about Erickson's health challenges. If I see someone like Bandler who, as you say, has the skills to model any human behavior, why would I not ask the question: "Why does he appear to be out of shape when he has skills that I do not?" Someone told me he had health issues. So now I know the answer. I am certain you can perceive the irony in that fact that Bandlers' life is about asking questions and yet I cannot? I think he can handle my question.
