    I personally think that the Feautrier is in the top of all the decks reprinted by Yves. I wasn't sure of it at first but it has really grown on me to the point where I had to get a copy. It's a very beautiful deck. I love it's energy :) I'm not a deck collector though, I only buy the decks that I feel I can work with and the Feautrier's facial expressions do make a difference in my readings.

    Thanks for sharing the video. I gotta say I really love that Joseph Feautrier. It’s as standard as you can get with a TdM. It’s like listening to classical music, you wanna hear it performed as you would expect to be. Maybe I’m just boring…😹

    Nice review, Claude Burdel & Pierre Madenie in a tie for me. Wish I could justify dropping $70 incl. shipping to US. Until then I've got the Convers Heron on its way from France for $33.

    I've been waiting for the Pierre Madenie, but when I just checked it doesn't appear to be available yet. I hope it returns to his shop soon. I've been waiting to make my purchase of about 3 decks by Yves Reynaud. Gorgeous decks and I love the history.

      I think they are available now. I would reach out to Yves. If they aren’t available yet they will be in the next few weeks. Thanks so much

    This was interesting to watch Justin, Yves Reynaud’s decks are such good quality and I loved his two part boxes. It’s a shame the new deck is in a tuck box but it does look a nice deck 🥰

    The thing with the red foot reminds me of the old Scooby Doo animation. Sometimes the paint dept coloured parts of the character that was ment to be a different colour. Eg - in one episode that had guest stars Batman & Robin, in one frame they accidently painted Batman's legs a flesh tone.
    Also sometimes a mistake will become repeated over and over.
    So maybe these Tarot deck's were racked out pretty quick. Maybe the workers were under pressure ?..

    I’m only waiting now for the Pierre Madenie. I believe it’s going to be on his shop from December. I totally agree about the box. The traditional two part box needs to make a return. The colours and texture of the Joseph Feautrier is great! As always, totally enjoyed and you make a great TdM teacher.

    I've watching all of your videos about the decks restored by Yves Reynaud as I am trying to decide which one I want to order myself. It'll be my first Reynaud and I want to be 100% on my purchase, but the problem is I want them all lol. So far I'm between the Claude Burdel, the Gassman, and the Conver. Thank you for sharing this with us Justin!

    • @justinmichaeltarot
      @justinmichaeltarot  2 роки тому +1

      If course. The Gassman is special but it’s only because I love that mint green. The Millenium and Rivesaltes are modern classics also

      @@justinmichaeltarot I love the mint green coloring! I also love the black shoes that the Emperor and the Kings are wearing. It’s a small detail, but brings me so much job.

    Erm... The Feautrier has the same ensign of the hens with chicks on the two of cups as the Bernardin Suzanne, does it also have the sort of half-egg or circle shape on the arm of the Popesse chair as the Suzanne does? {the 'half-egg' is the closest thing I have seen to the infamous Jodorowski-Camoin egg!}

    • @stephenmangan662
      @stephenmangan662 Рік тому

      The Bernardin Suzanne is among the early historical decks on Camoin's site [though he seems to think he is a woman]. Nicolas Conver was a witness at B. Suzanne's wedding, I wonder if he came into possession of his woodblocks, and it is on those woodblocks maybe that Camoin claims to have seen an egg?

      Also, Feautrier was married to Françoise Chosson, the daughter of the Merchant-Cartier François Chosson on September 1, 1754 (parish of Saint-Ferréol). [According to BnF, I haven't checked the parish records yet myself to check.)

    I wanted to ask you for an opinion. the first bunches were thicker, it seems to me that the edges were peeled a little. will this thinner have the same glue problem? Are the new stock stronger or not?

    • @justinmichaeltarot
      @justinmichaeltarot  2 роки тому

      Honestly I’ve never had that issue with peeled edges. How many decks have it happened with? I will say that I would shuffle these a bit more carefully. They are museum quality type cards. Not playing card stock. The new paper definitely seems better quality. And they feel incredible. Almost like rose peddle

    • @melissastella4185
      @melissastella4185 2 роки тому

      @@justinmichaeltarot this is a problem because the thickness of the first decks was extraordinarily great but I noticed that the Conver had some small problems at the borders and edges. I remedied with glue. but the thick cardboard also seems to me the most historically correct one, for this reason when the cardboard becomes thinner it is true that it can be more compact but it is also true that you feel it poorer and it is less exciting, because it looks more like those of the market. mass. The old tarot cards I saw in a museum all seemed to me very thick as cardboard.

    • @justinmichaeltarot
      @justinmichaeltarot  2 роки тому

      @@melissastella4185 yes that’s true. I don’t shuffle those decks too heavily. The only deck I use heavily is Houdouin’s deck. And that card stock is sturdier for sure
