What usually works. As you enter the area you feel a sickness come over you almost as if the ground is tainted with something dark you see a casket of sorts in the open with chains on it and what looks like rune language on this casket, you see the walls describe what looks like a story of a creature with 8 arms each with a different weapon in their hand and then describe the weapons on the walls almost as if the weapons belong here. Using that tends to get the party interested

MILES. This is such a great video! Also such a testament that reality is just as strange as fantasy 😂

This is an incredible concept and I'm so exited to work it into my PF2e pirate game by introducing an island covered in those iron spikes so they cant land their ship close to the shore.. The group has a small jellyfish in a glass orb that reacts to the presence of different types of magic by changing color depending on whether the magic is arcane, divine, primal, or occult so making it go black or pulse a rainbow of colors when they arrive at the monument on the center of the island will definitely freak them out. Thank you for sharing this amazing idea!

This reminds me of the first law trilogy. A immortal wizard is chasing a solidified chunk of the other world. It is radioactive and he unleashes a nuclear bomb on a city while he gives himself more power and extends his life.

This is such an epic idea for a campaign and the location of the big evil. Thanks!

Great video. As someone who works in the nuclear industry in the UK, we have had some input in the decommissioning of nuclear sites as well as contributions o these deep geological repositories. The idea of something inanimate yet fundamentally deadly to our very cellular structure is truly horrifying. Like Lovecraft's Colour Out of Space, how does a society that has never experienced this material, the knowledge of which has been long forgotten, comprehend the magnitude of such a destructive power?

I'd never heard of the ray cat thing, that's very cool! I know there's a lot of _plant_ species that kind of do this already with soil acidity and stuff and can warn of pollution by the change in their colour (or that genetically-modified spinach that glows when it senses a landmine lol) but the idea of an animal doing it is fun!

I like to mix children's tales into my spooky. Kids books are written simply, giving good premise to start. Then you mix imaginary friends or things kids say incorrectly and it makes things mysterious or mystical.
Then mix in a more grown up concept like a basic need kids would take for granted. Finally add geology like this video.
Here's an example, the quest is simple at first. Maybe a lost kitten. But it leads the party into looking a few places. Eventually an invisible person is found holding the kitten. He's friendly, but only the party is able to acknowledge his presence.
He says he's cursed and doesn't know why only they can see him.. he keeps following them around after, helping them randomly. But is he really a friend? Items keep going missing and the party is accused of theft. No one believes that there is this invisible thing following them.
How does the party resolve this?
Turn on the GM side of things, it could lead to additional story. Maybe he's not actually stealing anything, but his new presence is causing time fluctuations. Or maybe he's an evil ghost in disguise, and the party is alongside him.
To banish him they have to go to an island devoid of all life, when they get there, how do they eat? How long are they going to be stuck there?
Do they need to look for an item? Or better yet maybe build him a new body so he can have another life.. what parts do they use?
