2 of my children just started playing (daughter-cello, oldest son-viola). I love this piece and hope they eventually get along well enough to play this. Well played!
Gentlemen, I thoroughly enjoyed your performance! 32 years ago, when I was in High School, I used to try and play this (I played Cello) with a friend. You brought back many enjoyable memories for me while listening to your excellent performance. Thank you.
Start on cello, i say this because i sgtarted on the violin in 5th grade and started playing cello n 7th and now i love i. plus cello is easier for beginners and its the most beautiful insrument of the bunch :)
I had that same dilemma too and I am delighted I elected the viola for these reasons: you dont have to buy your viola its own airplane ticket; orchestras and other ensembles usually need a viola more than a cello; quartet music for viola is less demanding initially so that you can join a group sooner; you don't have to shift for every note (like you do on the cello). The viola is less expensive. and lets not forget the most important part, that to live in harmony is beautiful.
I play viola and couldn't be happier with it, hope you chose it :) lots more opportunities with this instrument, plus your fellow players all have really funny cool personalities!
wow.. that was really good ^-^ a couple kids at my school played this for a chamber concert and our solo and ensemble and it sounded just as good! so great job! :D
Que bien tocan xP mi hermna y yo tambien queremos hacer un duo de cello y viola nadamas uqe apenas estamos aprendiendo jejejeje que lindo tocan felicidades =P
Thanks for your comment, the name of the piece is Duo for viola and cello in e flat major "WITH TWO EYES GLASSES OBLIGATO", by Beethoven, I hope you will find it and enjoy it so much ;)
Gosh I know how you feel, I play the Viola in my Philharmonic Orchestra and the first song I got had Treble Cleff which was hard cause Im a bit new to shifting. Good luck at that Duet.
oh yea, this was uploaded in my birthday, and i play viola, my dad and sister play cello, and my little brother plays the violin! my mom watches and claps :P
It's very artsy and all, but when you cutaway to some picture, I can't see his fingerings, which is why I'm watching it :P They are pretty fantastic. I've seen this done slower, but I like this tempo best.
Viola is the more epic on :p (I play viola; self taught mostly, and I then learned cello in just a few minutes... It doesn't mean that I'm good at either, but if you try to play violin parts on the viola with out transposing, then you'll have a good chance of learning very fast. I've been doing it for the last four years, and because I've learned to play my viola like a violin, I've also learned how to play it like a cello so when I picked up a cello for the first time, it was surprisingly easy.
i play viola and i would really love to attempt this piece with a cello friend so could you tell me the name of this. I'd very much appreciate this :D thanks by the way--amazing :D
Holaaaa soy violista de El Salvador desería muchisimo estudiar y tocar esta pieza pero me es muy dificil en mi país de hacernos con partituras, te molestaría si te pidiera una copia Muchas gracias
I've played both so here's my take. Violas are underrated in large groups but for solo/smallgroup work they shine(because they have violin nimble-ness with better strings)Also, you usually get great people in the viola section because it's small and sans violin big headed-ness. Cello more appreciated all around and has a personal feeling with the instrument itself. Ever watch a Yo-Yo Ma solo and it looks like he's having passionate sex with his cello? There's a reason for that. tl;dr; hard choice
Perhaps and I also have not explanation, but we can see that is not underrated by our friend Beethoven, at least in this composition, but It's true, there are not enough music for viola players, what a pitty!!! You play viola, don't you? Bye!
This is definitely one of the most underplayed pieces by Beethoven. Brilliant rendition to boot.
two of the most beautiful string instruments imo
Ouvi duas vezes seguidas. É demais...
I really think the viola is a greatly underrated instrument.

The best of both world. Viola and Cello! =) Awesome!
I love the cello because of its ability to play such a long range of sound but the viola connects the violin and cello to together :)
This is very beautiful. Excellent job guys!
Sounds great guys! I'm playing this piece this afternoon with my brother on his senior recital. I am also a fan of the tempo you take.
i play viola and this is simply beautiful and elegant
I play the viola too! It's really fun and it's unique...that's why I chose it...

Wonderful!
i am playing the cello part in a duet with my sister at a concert it is so hard i have never played a piece in witch the cello goes into treble clef!
It's very artsy and all, but when you cutaway to some picture, I can't see his fingerings, which is why I'm watching it :P

yeah! go violas!
I composed duo viola and cello duo.
This instrumentation is interesting even in 21th century.
does anyone know where I can find free sheet music for this? I have looked all over the internet, without any luck.
wow, really cool:) guy on left site is very handsome:P
i play viola and i would really love to attempt this piece with a cello friend so could you tell me the name of this. I'd very much appreciate this :D thanks

me encanta, tienen muy buena tecnica, y buen sonido
el tempo para mi gusto esta un poco lento,
aun asi, maravillosa interpretacion.
I played this on viola AND cello.
Not at the same time, of course... ;)
I am a viola player and Im 15 and Im playing this with my friend :)
@tjsmiles25 Same here. I play viola and REALLY wanna play this with one of my friends who play cello but none them want to try :(
Why is the viola in the alto clef? Why not change from treble to bass instead?
What key is this in?
If you can send the scores. I would greatly be thankful. Please >.
Can you give me the paper? I need it for a married...
Thanks ://3
NO! THIS IS A VIOLA SAFE PLACE! Haven't you done enough?
