    Looking for a special backpack/sling style for grgrands. Forgot I purchased your pattern, and discovered your tutorial... I've watched it twice. The many pros of your tutorials: No background music. Minimal hand movement. Clear, concise and most pleasant voice giving instructions. You keep it "real" including corrections as needed. Suggestions for alternatives (I found some dinosaur design print, quilting cotton but I'm going to use it). Reinforcing the correct positions for pattern pieces assembly, great patterns. Cons... I haven't made the bag yet... that's it! Thank you for sharing your time and talent. Greatly appreciated.

    This was a fun and challenging project. I enjoyed the whole thing! Brilliant pattern and instructions. The cut files cut my bag making time down drastically.

    I have a tip I learned when notching the zippers for the center. You can use a lighter to keep it from fraying like the ends of the zipper. Great tutorial!

      I don’t ever notice fraying on my notched zips but that’s a great tip to ensure it doesn’t!

    Fantastic tutorial!!! I’m hopeful anyone who was scared away by the cocoon sees that it’s far less scary than it looks!

    New subscriber here catching up.
    The bag is such a lovely shape and I like the theft proof pocket.
    I would cover the inside of the phone pocket snap bracket with something, because it could scratch your phone screen.
    You could move this phone pocket from bag strap to bag strap too. 👏👏

    Idk if this has been mentioned but just incase it hasn’t. A little tip for the strap pouch. If you don’t want to do double side vinyl, add two cuts together to make the pouch double sided or leave the interior as the back of the vinyl. Use HTV on the back of the vinyl, cut out the pattern then put it together. That way when the pouch is open, it looks finished on the inside. And you don’t have to have a cutting machine to do it. Just buy a roll of HTV (whatever color/design you want). Cut out a strip of it that’s roughly 4.5 wide (a bit wider then the pattern piece) and 16.5 long (once again bigger then the pattern piece). Place it on the back of the vinyl your using, fuse it on (iron or heat press). Then cut out your pattern piece. Best tip ever. I use it all the time for my purse pals for the interior of the zip pocket piece. It finishes it off & is super easy to do.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  2 роки тому

      Yessss!! I’ll be honest, I can’t stand to see the fabric side of faux leathers in my projects and adding HTV or using leather instead is a must for me. Thanks for the tip! I hope others give it a try as well 😀

    Always such great patterns and tutorials! Do you think this one could be done on a domestic machine?

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  2 роки тому

      Absolutely! All my patterns are tested on domestic machines to make sure it can be done. Keep in mind, not all machines are created equal and some can handle certain areas with ease while others struggle. It’ll come down to knowing what your machine can handle and using the appropriate materials.

    I couldn't find s definite answer in the pattern, and maybe I am not experienced enough to know instinctively, when we topstitch the zipper tabs are we just top stitching where the end of the zipper is or is there a particular SA for that? I love your patterns!

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! For the most part, when I mention to topstitch any part, it’s ⅛” from the folded edge (near the zipper)

    Can a walking foot be used on a brothers machine?

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  2 роки тому

      Should be able to. They sell it as a separate attachment. You’ll just want to find one that’s compatible with your particular model.
