Looking for a special backpack/sling style for grgrands. Forgot I purchased your pattern, and discovered your tutorial... I've watched it twice. The many pros of your tutorials: No background music. Minimal hand movement. Clear, concise and most pleasant voice giving instructions. You keep it "real" including corrections as needed. Suggestions for alternatives (I found some dinosaur design print, quilting cotton but I'm going to use it). Reinforcing the correct positions for pattern pieces assembly, great patterns. Cons... I haven't made the bag yet... that's it! Thank you for sharing your time and talent. Greatly appreciated.
This was a fun and challenging project. I enjoyed the whole thing! Brilliant pattern and instructions. The cut files cut my bag making time down drastically.
I have a tip I learned when notching the zippers for the center. You can use a lighter to keep it from fraying like the ends of the zipper. Great tutorial!
What a beautiful sling, love your fabric is so bright and refreshing. Love the extra phone cover, I’m going to try heat transfer vinyl on the inside. Can’t wait to make then. Thanks for another great tutorial xxx
U are a genius! Congratulations 👏 I absolutely love it! I love that the binding is hidden from when u open the bag..nice! I love all ur patterns 💗 Thank u for the cell phone pattern that u included...that's a plus
What a fantastic design Linds! After watching the video I feel like I could actually make one myself. Your tutorial was full of excellent tips! Thank you! ~~Christy~~
New subscriber here catching up. The bag is such a lovely shape and I like the theft proof pocket. I would cover the inside of the phone pocket snap bracket with something, because it could scratch your phone screen. You could move this phone pocket from bag strap to bag strap too. 👏👏
Idk if this has been mentioned but just incase it hasn’t. A little tip for the strap pouch. If you don’t want to do double side vinyl, add two cuts together to make the pouch double sided or leave the interior as the back of the vinyl. Use HTV on the back of the vinyl, cut out the pattern then put it together. That way when the pouch is open, it looks finished on the inside. And you don’t have to have a cutting machine to do it. Just buy a roll of HTV (whatever color/design you want). Cut out a strip of it that’s roughly 4.5 wide (a bit wider then the pattern piece) and 16.5 long (once again bigger then the pattern piece). Place it on the back of the vinyl your using, fuse it on (iron or heat press). Then cut out your pattern piece. Best tip ever. I use it all the time for my purse pals for the interior of the zip pocket piece. It finishes it off & is super easy to do.
Yessss!! I’ll be honest, I can’t stand to see the fabric side of faux leathers in my projects and adding HTV or using leather instead is a must for me. Thanks for the tip! I hope others give it a try as well 😀
Absolutely! All my patterns are tested on domestic machines to make sure it can be done. Keep in mind, not all machines are created equal and some can handle certain areas with ease while others struggle. It’ll come down to knowing what your machine can handle and using the appropriate materials.
Thanks! Here’s he link with all the details on the bag and pattern: www.lindshandmade.com/product-page/lindsling-pdf-sewing-pattern-diy-anti-theft-style-bag
I couldn't find s definite answer in the pattern, and maybe I am not experienced enough to know instinctively, when we topstitch the zipper tabs are we just top stitching where the end of the zipper is or is there a particular SA for that? I love your patterns!
I'm sorry I forgot to ask u Lind if u can be so kind & give the info from where to buy the double sided vinyl? Cuz I heard u say MOJO but I can't find it

I don’t ever notice fraying on my notched zips but that’s a great tip to ensure it doesn’t!
Fantastic tutorial!!! I’m hopeful anyone who was scared away by the cocoon sees that it’s far less scary than it looks!
Here’s hoping! 🤞🏻
Just got done with my first LindSling!!! It's such a cute bag, but certainly NOT for the faint of heart.

Always such great patterns and tutorials! Do you think this one could be done on a domestic machine?

I love this bag! Where do I get the pattern with dimensions?

Thank you! For the most part, when I mention to topstitch any part, it’s ⅛” from the folded edge (near the zipper)
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns , Thank you!
Do you have acrylic templates for this pattern?
I don’t personally sell them but I’ve authorized thattemplateshop.com to sell them.
Can a walking foot be used on a brothers machine?
Should be able to. They sell it as a separate attachment. You’ll just want to find one that’s compatible with your particular model.
I'm sorry I forgot to ask u Lind if u can be so kind & give the info from where to buy the double sided vinyl? Cuz I heard u say MOJO but I can't find it
Mojosew.com. It’s mentioned in the video description above.
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns I'm always lost 🤭 Thank u 😚
it would be nice to know the fabric measurements please.
Do you mean how much fabric is required? I list all that in the listing description for the pattern on both my website and Etsy.

I’d suggest turning on the closed captioning option. But noted, thanks.
