How to do the Clare battering step for set dancing

This is the one and only Dennis breaking down the Clare battering step for a student. Dennis is on the left. This is the step for the man. The woman starts with the heel toe on the right foot.
For the man:

To do the down down u don't have to put the frost down in front for you. Infact instead of two downs you only have to do one down. It looks nicer with the 1 down and you will be able to put more footwork into the batter
