The temple is at a distance of 244 km from the Dehradun airport and 227 km from Rishikesh, the rail head. From Rishikesh to Kalimath the road distance is 196 km. Alternatively, Madhmaheshwar shrine could be reached from Mansoona, Buruwa and Uniyana, via Ukhimath. From Ukhimath, the route passes through Mansoona(7 km), Buruwa(4 km), Ransi (3 km) then Goundar (9 km), Bantoli (2 km) and further 10 km steep climb via Khatra Khal, Maikhumbachatti and kunchatti reach the temple
The base of the trek is Aktolidhar/Ransi which is 22-24 kilometres away from Ukhimath. From there the trekking way starts. After 6 kilometres is Goundar village a small chatti, with a place to stay where there are 3 lodges to stay. After 2 km lies Bantoli, the point of confluence of Saraswati Ganga and Morkhanda Ganga then it's called Madhyamaheshwar ganga Or Madhu ganga. Then comes Khatara, Nanu, Maikhambachatti, Kunchatti and then comes Madhyamaheswar. The proper trekking distance is 14.25 kilometres from Aktolidhar/Ransi. Budha Madmaheshwar (Vriddh or Old) is located at a 2 km trekking distance from the famous Madmaheshwar temple and offers one of the best view of Chaukhambha Peaks. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva also known as Mahadev.
Budha Madmaheshwar is a temple which is situated in the Gaundar village of Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand. It is a Hindu temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated at an elevation of 3497 m from the sea level.
The temple of Budha Madmaheshwar is situated in the hills where many devotees come and visit throughout the year. this place offer you see the majestic view of Himalayas. There are also few pools of water in this temple top mirror reflecting the mountain ranges.
You can visit this temple throughout the year as it has pleasant atmosphere there. But the best time to visit this temple is during the months of May, June, September, October. In summer season the weather is very pleasant with moderate climate. During monsoon, the sightseeing is very attractive, and rains makes it more beautiful.
During winters there are very chilly days as well. So, it is advisable to take precautions at that time.
